Systems and methods for enhancing file systems with file system objects that automatically expire. An example method may involve: scanning, by a processing device, a data storage node, wherein the data storage node comprises multiple certificates associated with file system objects in a plurality of different data storage nodes; iterating through the multiple certificates to determine a set of certificates, wherein the set of certificates comprises certificates that are invalid; and initiating a deletion of the file system objects in the plurality of different storage nodes.

Certificate based expiration of file system objects

Systems and methods for enhancing file systems with file system objects that automatically expire. An example method may comprise: initiating a creation of a file system object in a file system; determining an expiration time for the file system object in view of an expiration policy; transmitting a request to create a certificate associated with the file system object, the request to create the certificate comprising the expiration time for the file system object to include in the certificate; and upon receiving the certificate associated with the file system object, causing the certificate to be stored with a plurality of certificates, wherein the certificate is to indicate whether the file system object is valid at a point in time.

A technique for dynamically controlling access to client input/output devices includes generating, by a client, a connection request to a central repository. In response to receiving, by the client, a grant to the connection request, an input/output device policy is downloaded from the central repository. The input/output device policy specifies one or more attributes for one or more input/output devices of the client. A user agent, executing on the client, extracts the attributes for the one or more input/output devices from the input/output device policy. The agent then applies the extracted attributes to the client to dynamically control access to the one or more input/output devices based on whether the client is inside or outside an organizational network.

Techniques for dynamic access control of input/output devices

A method and system for implementing DMPP tracking of partially shaded/uniformly illuminated photovoltaic arrays using switched capacitor DC-DC converter is disclosed. Here, a dedicated SC converter is connected across each PV cell or PV module made of series connected PV cells wherein series connected modules make a PV string and parallel connected PV strings make up a PV array. This SC converter injects an equalization current across the PV module or PV cell so that the total current in the parallel combination of the PV module or PV cell and the corresponding SC converter is the same as the PV string current. In another implementation of DMPP tracking using SC converters, a dedicated SC converter is connected across each isolated PV module to perform MPP tracking of the respective PV module. Then all MPP tracking SC converter outputs are diode ORed to the common load.

Switched capacitor DC-DC converter based distributed maximum power point tracking of partially shaded photovoltaic arrays

Technologies generally described herein relate to a cell balancing and charging scheme for a serially coupled Li-Ion battery pack supported by a photovoltaic cell array power source. A switched capacitor DC-DC converter and a cell monitoring approach may be used to charge and cell balance the battery pack. When one of the cells falls below a predefined voltage, a capacitor (charged by the photovoltaic array) may supply current to bring the voltage to the predefined point. Continuous monitoring for the cells during charging and discharging may ensure cell voltage changes beyond the predefined limit are detected timely. Cell balancing may be performed even in the absence of photovoltaic (PV) array illumination.

A file system designed according to a convention which permits the addition of new attributes (potentially of new types not defined earlier) for any desired set of files. In one embodiment, addition of an attribute for a file requires rewriting of attributes (of other files) stored following the added new attribute. In an alternative embodiment, the convention permits an attribute to point to another location at which the storing of new attributes is continued.

Flexible approach to store attribute information (META-DATA) related to files of a file system

A single stage, single switch, input-output isolated converter configuration which uses a hybrid combination of forward and flyback converters is disclosed. The converter operates at a high input power factor with a regulated DC output voltage. It makes use of a novel control scheme utilizing duty cycle control at two discrete operating frequencies. Although the invention employs two frequencies, it does not use a continuous frequency variation. This configuration has the advantage of reduced peak current stresses on the components and is specifically suited for 'buck' applications where low DC output voltages (e.g. 24V, 48V) are needed. This configuration will be of specific interest to industries associated with battery charging and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. Apart from having several competitive features compared with prior art techniques, the dual frequency operation scheme reduces the amplitude of its noise spectrum by spreading it over a wider frequency range thus making it more electromagnetic compatible.
