Static content, such as text, an audio clip, an image, or a video clip, may be forwarded to users in a communication, e.g., a message, e-mail, social media post, social chat message, or made available in a blog post, or webpage. It is determined whether time-sensitive information included in that content will be updated automatically. If so, then updated information is obtained, and used to modify the time-sensitive information, e.g., by replacing and/or supplementing the time-sensitive information. If it is not determined that the time-sensitive information will be updated automatically, then the content may be modified by adding an indication that the time-sensitive information is, or may be, outdated, or removing the time-sensitive information from the content. The unmodified content may, optionally, be forwarded to the other users together with the modified content. Feedback from the other users may be used to inform future content modifications.

The system retrieves from memory a media consumption pattern profile, which includes first and second media characteristics associated as a pattern of media consumption and a time duration indicating how long a first media content item having the first media characteristic was output by a user device before the user device changed to outputting a second media content item having the second media characteristic. Devices are assigned to separate breakout rooms based on either just the expertise score or if the expertise score meets the threshold of the complexity score. Performance within the breakout rooms is displayed in real-time, such as in a graph. A moderator schedule is generated based the performance within the breakout rooms, where priority is given to a breakout room that has a negative performance over a breakout room with a positive performance.

In response to determining the at least one frame comprises objectionable subject matter, a determination is made as to whether an entity identifier is visible in the at least one frame. In response to determining at least one entity identifier is visible in the at least one frame, a first context of the objectionable subject matter and a second context of the entity identifier are determined. The first context is compared to the second context and, based on the comparing, a masking action is determined to be required for the entity identifier.

For example, the methods and systems buffer content segments related to a current portion of the content that the system is generating for display. The methods and systems determine a characteristic of the current portion of the content and related content segments based on the characteristic. Confidence scores are determined by the systems and methods for each of the related content segments, and one or more related content segments with higher confidence scores are buffered in memory. Accordingly, the methods and systems described herein provide a thorough viewing of content through related segments that are buffered in memory for quick access.

Methods and systems for predictive buffering of related content segments

Systems and methods are provided for generating a second content item on identifying an event in a first content item. A first content item is received, and the first content item is monitored to identify a change in a factor associated with the first content item. It is determined whether the change in factor is greater than a threshold value. Based on the change in the factor, an event is identified in the first content item. A second content item is generated, wherein the second content item is based on the identified event in the first content item. The first content item and a user interface element are generated for display at a computing device, wherein the user interface element is configured to receive an input and is associated with the second content item. In response to receiving an input, the second content item is generated for output.

Systems and methods are described to address shortcomings in the conventional network storage systems via novel techniques to store offsets of a recorded program in a network digital video recorder (DVR). Storing offsets of a recorded program may be beneficial to users that would like to record media content that is broadcast either prior to a start time of a program, or media content that is broadcast after an end time of a program. This feature may be useful when start times and end times of a program are variable (e.g., in the case of sporting events, or other real-time events). This feature may also be useful for recording content of interest that is scheduled for broadcast prior to a start time of or after an end time of the program.

Systems and methods are described herein for recommending content based on a mood score associated with a user profile. The system accesses the viewing history of the user profile to determine media assets consumed and the mood score associated with each of the consumed media assets of the plurality of media assets. A cumulative mood score is calculated based at least in part to determine if the total score is below a mood threshold. Based on the cumulative mood score being lower than the mood threshold, the system generates for presentation, on the consumer device, one or more media assets with a positive mood score.

Systems and methods for identifying certain objects within 360-degree content for user interaction. Objects within 360-degree content may be identified, and the corresponding segments of 360-degree content may be assigned a score according to how likely they may be to meet certain criteria, such as the likelihood that the user may interact with the object or its segment. Scores may be assigned in any manner, such as with reference to retrieved user information. In highly scored segments, users may be encouraged to pause the content at that segment, and interact with its objects. Encouragement may take any form, such as highlighting the segment or some component thereof. Likewise, interaction may also take any form, such as the allowing the user to alter the appearance of one or more segment objects in some way. In this manner, increased user interaction with 360-degree video is allowed, increasing viewer interest and engagement.

An input associated with a first content item is received and a type associated with the first content item is identified. A recommendation is identified based on the type, and an action associated with the recommendation is performed at a first computing device.
