Systems and methods are described for requesting media content playback. Media content item metadata relating to product endorsement in the media content item is accessed. An endorsement profile for the media content item is generated based on the media content item metadata. The endorsement profile comprises data relating to which segments of the media content item have product-related content. A manifest file comprising instructions re-questing playback of the media content item is generated based on the endorsement profile for the media content item.

Systems and methods are provided herein for determining reduction of interest in a content series and to increasing the interest upon such determination. This may be accomplished by a device monitoring consumption of a content series to determine a pattern of consumption. The device may identify a change in the pattern of consumption indicative of a reduction of interest and determine a reason for the reduction in interest. Based on the reason for the reduction of interest, the device may provide an operation, such as a spoiler, to increase interest in the content series.

In response to determining that the user has navigated to an embedded content, such as a video clip, the media guidance application may determine a device in the vicinity of the user that is better suited than the user's smartphone for playback of the video clip. For example, a nearby smart television may have a larger screen, better sound output, and a better display resolution than the smartphone. As a result, the media guidance application may cause the smart television to output the video clip.

The media asset comprises a plurality of segments, and an availability level of each user is determined for each segment of the media asset. If the availability level of the user for a given segment is below a threshold level, at least one function of a chat application is disabled on a device associated with the user for at least the duration of the segment. If the availability level of the user for a given segment meets or exceeds the threshold level, including when the availability level rises to or above the threshold level after having been below the threshold level, the at least one function of the chat application is enabled or reenabled.

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for selective audio segment compression for accelerated playback of media assets by service providers. A playback speed of the video segment of a media asset is calculated based on the duration of the video segment and a received playback time period. The system receives audio segments and corresponding priority weights. The audio segments with the lowest priority weight are removed from the group of various audio segments. The system then determines whether the duration of the remaining audio segments exceeds the received playback time period. If so, the system modifies the remaining audio segments by removing another audio segment with the lowest priority weight from the remaining audio segments. The system then rechecks whether the received playback time period is exceeded. If not, the system generates for playback the video segment based on the video playback speed and the remaining audio segments.

Systems and methods for selective audio segment compression for accelerated playback of media assets by service providers

Systems and methods are described herein for identifying camera angles, based on network parameters, for content available at multiple camera angles. The system determines a network parameter of a network used to provide content that is recorded or rendered at various camera angles. The determined network parameters are used to identify camera angles that are supported by the network. For example, the video data associated with a camera angle having a prerequisite bit rate of 5 Megabits per second is supported by a network having a bandwidth parameter of 40 Mbps, while another camera angle having a prerequisite bit rate of 45 Megabits per second is not supported by the bandwidth parameter of 40 Mbps. The system provides the video data for identified camera angles supported by the network to a device for display.

Static content, such as text, an audio clip, an image, or a video clip, may be forwarded to users in a communication, e.g., a message, e-mail, social media post, social chat message, or made available in a blog post, or webpage. The unmodified content may, optionally, be forwarded to the other users together with the modified content. Feedback from the other users may be used to inform future content modifications.

Systems and methods for creating, monitoring, and managing a breakout conference for a conference call are disclosed. The methods determine topics for breakout rooms and their complexity scores. A breakout room is created for the topics, including separate breakout rooms for complex topics. An expertise score based on a plurality of factors for each device associated with a participant is also calculated. Devices are assigned to separate breakout rooms based on either just the expertise score or if the expertise score meets the threshold of the complexity score. Performance within the breakout rooms is displayed in real-time, such as in a graph. A moderator schedule is generated based the performance within the breakout rooms, where priority is given to a breakout room that has a negative performance over a breakout room with a positive performance.
