Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may decode a first signal received over a broadcast channel during a first synchronization signal block (SSB) occasion to identify a first payload, and determine one or more expected changes between the first payload and a second payload of a second signal expected to be received over the broadcast channel during a second SSB occasion. The UE may update the first payload with the one or more expected changes to determine an updated first payload, and encode the updated first payload as an updated first signal. The UE may receive the second signal over the broadcast channel during the second SSB occasion, and apply the second signal and the updated first signal to a tracking procedure for the UE.

Techniques for performing tracking using a physical broadcast channel

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may configure one or more radio frequency (RF) chains of the UE to communicate using a second radio access technology (RAT) for a length of time. The UE may identify that the length of time satisfies a threshold. The UE may configure the one or more RF chains to the first RAT. The UE may initiate a beam measurement on the first RAT in a number of consecutive measurement occasions based at least in part on the length of time satisfying the threshold. Techniques for beam management during a tune-away

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain per-beam, per-component carrier measurements for unique combinations of beams and component carriers supported by the UE. The UE may select a first beam that has a highest per-beam, per-component carrier measurement across all component carriers. In addition, the UE may determine a set of candidate beams based on the measurements. The beams included in the set of candidate beams may have per-beam, per-component carrier measurements within some defined value of the measurements corresponding to the first beam. The UE may select an active beam from the set of candidate beams based on an average per-beam, per-component carrier measurement or a difference between maximum and minimum per-beam, per-component carrier measurements of each candidate beam across all component carriers. The UE may communicate with the network entity using the active beam.

User equipment beam selection and refinement for carrier aggregation

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may perform first measurements associated with secondary component carriers (SCCs) for downlink and perform second measurements associated with beams. The UE may select a downlink SCC in frequency range 2 (FR2) as a first anchor CC with a primary component carrier (PCC) from frequency range 1 (FR1), from the SCCs for downlink, based on the first measurements, in combination with a downlink beam based on the second measurements. Multiple reference signal occasions may occur during an inactive period of a discontinuous reception cycle configured for a wireless device. An amount of time the UE will be awake during the discontinuous reception cycle if the UE wakes up during a reference signal occasion of the multiple reference signal occasions may be determined for each of the reference signal occasions. The UE may wake up during the reference signal occasion associated with the shortest amount of awake time relative to the other reference signal occasions.

A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a discontinuous reception (DRX), e.g., connected mode DRX (CDRX), and the UE may select a synchronization signal block (SSB) set to perform an SSB warm-up to wake up, search, and measure the SSB set to improve the performance of the UE during a DRX ON duration. The UE may select the SSB set based on a time difference of the SSB set relative to the DRX ON duration. In a particular implementation, a method of wireless communication includes searching, at a user equipment (UE) having a first subscriber identity module (SIM) and a second SIM, transmit beams from a base station and receive beams from the UE to determine a subset of transmit beams. The method also includes storing indicators of the subset of transmit beams in a database accessible to the UE in response to the second SIM performing a particular operation that causes the first SIM to perform a tune away operation. The method further includes, after completion of the particular operation, performing measurement operations on the subset of transmit beams to select a particular transmit beam of the subset of transmit beams and a corresponding particular receive beam for attachment to the base station.

Beam selection for multi-subscriber identity module (MSIM) devices

Aspects of the disclosure relate to minimizing the number of antenna array modules on a wireless communication device utilized in forming beam pair links (BPLs) based on beam measurements obtained on each of a plurality of receive beams for each of a plurality of transmit beams. For at least one BPL, the wireless communication device selects a different receive beam that results in at least one fewer active antenna array module. In some examples, the different receive beam selected for a BPL has a beam measurement value within a predefined variance from a beam measurement value of an original receive beam for the BPL. In addition, the wireless communication device can confirm that the beam measurement values of both the original and different receive beams satisfy a minimum beam measurement value before switching the BPL to the different receive beam.
