A jar includes the following: a mandrel; an outer housing slidably disposed about the mandrel; a low pressure chamber having a first port and formed between the mandrel and the outer housing; a high pressure chamber having a second port and formed between the mandrel and the outer housing; a fluid passage between the first and second port; and a valve disposed in the fluid passage.

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a jar including the following: a mandrel; an outer housing slidably disposed about the mandrel; a ball stop housing disposed below the outer housing; a lower sub disposed below the ball stop housing; and a ball stop assembly disposed in the ball stop housing. The ball stop assembly includes a ball stop pivotally disposed in the ball stop assembly.

A roller reamer includes a roller assembly deployed in a corresponding axial recess in a tool body. The roller assembly is retained in the axial recess via compound wedging action provided by at least one retention assembly. The retention assembly includes first and second wedges, the first of which converts a substantially radially directed force to an axially directed force and the second of which converts the axially directed force to a cross-axially directed retention force that retains the roller assembly in the axial recess.

A valve assembly includes a main housing having a central bore therethrough, an upper valve subassembly disposed within the main housing, the upper valve subassembly including an upper seat configured to contact a corresponding lower seat of a lower valve subassembly, and a flow diverter ring disposed proximate the upper seat of the upper valve subassembly, wherein the flow diverter ring is configured to direct a fluid flow radially away from the upper seat of the upper valve subassembly.

A downhole jarring tool includes a mandrel having a small diameter portion and a large diameter portion, a detent cylinder sealingly disposed around the mandrel forming an enclosure, a divider disposed in the enclosure between the mandrel and the detent cylinder, wherein the divider partitions the enclosure into a storage chamber and a metering chamber, and a metering system disposed around the mandrel. A method of applying an impact force using a downhole jarring tool includes moving a mandrel with respect to a detent cylinder by applying an axial force, positioning the mandrel such that a metering system disposed on the mandrel enters a reduced diameter portion of the detent cylinder, transmitting energy to an energy storing component disposed inside the detent cylinder, metering a fluid through the metering system, and accelerating the mandrel with respect to the detent cylinder.

A coil tubing system including a reel having a core rotatable about a horizontal axis, the core having a surface defining an interior cavity about the horizontal axis and a tubing having an inlet end positioned proximate the horizontal axis. A bend is formed in the tubing between the inlet end and a core point of the tubing positioned proximate the core surface, the permanent bend positioned substantially within the interior cavity.

Flow diverter ring for mud saver valves

A method of lifting a coiled tubing reel is provided that includes providing a coiled tubing reel including a pair of flanges connected by a core around which a string of coiled tubing is wrapped, and a pair of hubs with each hub connected to a corresponding one of the flanges by a plurality of spokes. The method also includes providing a spreader beam including a pair of support members, and connecting each support member to a corresponding one of the reel hubs. The method further includes lifting the coiled tubing reel by applying a lift force to the spreader beam, such that the load of the lift force is carried by the spreader beam, the reel hubs and at least one of the plurality of spokes.

Coiled tubing equipment lifting methods

A method of deploying a tool into a pressurized well is provided that includes providing the well with a wellhead having a blow out preventer coupled thereto; setting a pressure barrier within the well at a distance below the blow out preventer that is at least as long as the length of the tool to create a pressure chamber between the blow out preventer and the pressure barrier; and opening the blow out preventer to allow for conveyance of the tool into the pressure chamber.

Riserless deployment system

A coiled tubing swivel assembly is provided that includes a mandrel for attachment to a pump, and a hub rotatably attached to the mandrel and for attachment to an end of a string of coiled tubing. The mandrel and the hub together form a conduit for passage of a pumped substance. A crane bearing is attached to the fluid conduit.

A gooseneck for coiled tubing operations have a folding design to allow for a more compact design for storage and transport. The gooseneck may remain attached to the injector during transport, thereby decreasing the equipment required to move and set-up the coiled tubing equipment. The gooseneck includes a linkage mechanism for connecting a pair of support struts between the injector body and the tubing guide. The linkage allows the guide to follow a substantially parabolic path as it tracks the tubing from the reel to the injector.
