The present invention relates to a catalytic composition which comprises a beta zeolite, a metal of group VIII, a metal of group VI B and optionally one or more oxides as carrier. The catalytic system of the present invention can be used for the hydrotreating of hydrocarbon mixtures and more specifically in the upgrading of hydrocarbon mixtures having boiling ranges within the range of 35&#xb0; to 250&#xb0; C., containing sulfur impurities, i.e. in hydrodesulfuration with contemporaneous skeleton isomerization and a reduced hydrogenation degree of olefins contained in said hydrocarbon mixtures, the whole process being carried out in a single step.

Catalytic composition for the upgrading of hydrocarbon mixtures

The present invention relates to the use of a catalytic system comprising a metal of group VIII, a metal of group VI, a metal oxide as carrier and suitable quantities of a component selected from a zeolite of the FER type, phosphorous, and a mixture thereof, in upgrading of hydrocarbons boiling in the naphtha range containing sulfur impurities, namely in hydrodesulfurization with contemporaneous skeleton isomerization of olefins contained in said hydrocarbons and/or with reduction of olefins hydrogenation, carried out in a single step.

A process is described for the upgrading of hydrocarbon mixtures which boil within the naphtha range containing sulfur impurities, i.e. a hydrodesulfuration process with contemporaneous skeleton isomerization and reduced hydrogenation degree of the olefins contained in said hydrocarbon mixtures, the whole process being carried out in a single step. A process is described for the synthesis of mesitylene, characterized in that mesitylene is obtained starting exclusively from pseudocumene, without the use of any other chemical compound, operating in continuous, at a temperature ranging from 225 to 400&#xb0; C., at a pressure ranging from 1 to 50 bar, at a weight space velocity ranging from 0.1 to 10 hours, and in the presence of a catalyst containing a zeolite selected from ZSM-5 zeolite having a crystal lattice based on silicon oxide and aluminum oxide, and ZSM-5 zeolite modified by the partial or total substitution of Si with a tetravalent element such as Ti or Ge and/or the partial or total substitution of Al with other trivalent elements, such as Fe, Ga or B.

Process for the production of mesitylene

A process is described for the contemporaneous preparation of mesitylene and durene, characterized in that mesitylene and durene are obtained exclusively starting from pseudo-cumene without the use of any further chemical compound, operating in continuous, at a temperature ranging from 210 to 400&#xb0; C., at a pressure ranging from 1 to 50 bar, with a weight space velocity ranging from 0.1 to 20 hoursand in the presence of a catalyst based on crystalline metal-silicates in acid form. After the recovery of mesitylene and durene from the reaction raw product, some of the remaining components of the raw product itself are recycled and fed to the reactor together with the pseudo-cumene.
