A doll includes a plush doll body having a movable head. A body housing within the doll body supports a control and sound circuit which is operatively coupled to a bidirectional motor drive system operative to move the head from side-to-side. A mouth moving mechanism is independently provided within the doll head. The body housing supports a pair of outwardly facing microphones on the right and left side of the housing to detect sound from either side. The control and sound circuit compares the sound energy received by the right side and left side microphones and determines the appropriate direction to pivot or rotate the head to simulate a &ldquo;listening&rdquo; attention by the doll.

Talking doll having head movement responsive to external sound

An articulated soft doll construction in which a soft skin covers a soft doll head and a soft skin covers a soft torso in which the head is universally moveable relative to the torso. The torso has a first skin cover covering a fiber filler material. The torso and first skin cover are formed with an opening in which a neck connecting member is received. A second soft skin cover is used to cover a soft head that is filled with fiber material. A neck plug is received through an opening in the head and second soft skin cover. Disposed inside a neck plug is a ball and socket assembly in which the ball is connected to a spindle member that extends into the torso and is received by the neck connecting member for engagement therewith. A collar member is received inside the neck plug for retaining the second soft skin cover around the head. A remaining member is received by the neck connecting member to retain the first soft skin cover. The ball and socket assembly enables universal movement of the head relative to the torso of the doll while the first and second soft skin covers are retained.

Articulated soft doll construction assembly

A mechanically actuable doll's head (12) is mounted on an angled cut (20) formed in a neck (14) and is supported on a pair of shoulders (16) fixed to a supporting base (18). An actuating mechanism (26) for rotating the head from one side to the other, and at the same time tilting the head up or down is provided, and includes a knob (28), a first shaft (32), a first bevel gear (34), a second bevel gear (38), a second shaft (42) and a neck-plug (44) having an enlarged portion (46) carrying the head.

Poseable doll head

A toy vehicle accelerator is disclosed which includes a housing, an opening in the housing of a width to fit a particular toy vehicle, and an impeller mounted to slide in the opening as well as to rotate freely in a horizontal plane. The impeller includes surfaces which contact a properly sized vehicle and permit the impeller to accelerate that vehicle. An improperly sized object merely causes the impeller to rotate, precluding the acceleration of such objects.
