A vehicle has elements providing a fluid pathway to the controlling system of spring actuated, normally locked brakes that are fluid releasable. The elements forming the fluid pathway are connectable to a fluid power assembly that is movable to and from the vehicle and releasably connected to the fluid pathway.

A hydraulic puller tool for use in confined spaces including a housing defining an annular fluid-receiving chamber and having a hollow, open ended, tube-like center extending from end to end of the housing, an annular piston slidably received within the chamber and having an end extending from an end of the housing in sealed relation thereto with an opening aligned with the hollow center, at least one port in the housing for admitting fluid into the chamber, and a tube-like adapter freely received in the piston opening and the hollow center and rotatable therein, the adapter having a radially extending stop engaging the end of the piston and being at least partially internally threaded at a location remote from the stop.

A service bench having an effectively universally adjustable clamp structure for servicing apparatus, such as engine valve assemblies, vehicle tires, track pins and bushings, and the like. The clamp is adjustably mounted in the service bench for movement alongside a service space defined thereby and includes clamping portions having adjustable spacing for effecting the desired clamping operation. At least one of the clamping portions is adjustable in a direction perpendicular to the clamping direction as by mounting thereof to an adjustably extensible portion of the clamp mounting element.

Apparatus for testing engine heads of internal combustion engines of various sizes for fluid tightness of internal cavities in a head which commmunicate with ports in the fire deck surface of the head. A universal mounting frame for a cylinder head is rotatable on a longitudinal pivot axis to position the head with its fire deck surface at any orientation relative to the axis. Longitudinal support rails are positioned above the water ports, and spring loaded stopper means and fluid supply and venting members which are longitudinally adjustable on the rails are aligned with the ports, and the support rails are then moved down to seal the stoppers and heads against the rims of the ports. Compressed air, and then hot water are introduced to the head cavities to check it for leaks.

Test apparatus for engine heads

A jack or lift with a special fixture is provided for raising or lowering heavy and unusually shaped parts, such as crankcase and transmission guards for heavy-duty vehicles, such as track-type vehicles. The fixture on the jack engages the guard with a novel gripping or coupling arrangement for positively engaging the guard at two points. The gripping or coupling arrangement is vertically and horizontally adjustable to accommodate for different sized parts. A slope adjusting member is provided on the lift remote from the fixture to provide the third point of a three point support.
