An optical chamber assembly of a detection device includes a light ring for supporting at least one light device, an optical cover defining an interior chamber of the optical chamber assembly, and an intermediate component disposed between the light ring and the optical cover. The intermediate component optically couples the at least one light device with the interior chamber. The light ring is formed from a first material, the intermediate component is formed from a second material, and the optical cover is formed from a third material, the first material, the second material, and the third material being different.

Smoke chamber for multiwave multiangle smoke detector

A smoke detector with an emitter and a receiver defining an angular distance there between less than 90&#xb0;, the angular distance between the emitter and the receiver generating a back scatter effect, and a method of operating the smoke detector are provided. The smoke detector includes a housing defining a chamber for receiving ambient materials, an emitter configured to emit light (ex. infrared light or any light in the visible spectrum, such as blue light) into the chamber, a receiver configured to receive light reflected from the ambient materials in the chamber and generate output signals, and a controller configured to receive output signals from the receiver and determine whether a current condition of the chamber indicates a need to trigger an alarm.

Photo-electric smoke detector using single emitter and single receiver

A photoelectric smoke detector includes an optics cover that provides a smoke chamber that has a smoke chamber opening, a blocking component is mounted to the optics cover. An inner cover provides a first opening and a second opening. The first opening receives a portion of the blocking component and the second opening is aligned with the smoke chamber opening. A spoiler is received against the inner cover. The spoiler includes at least one of: a U-shaped fin arrangement and a Y-shaped fin arrangement.

Photoelectric smoke detectors

A photoelectric smoke detector, includes an optics cover that provides a smoke chamber that has a smoke chamber opening, a CO detector is mounted to the optics cover. An inner cover provides a first opening and a second opening. The first opening receives a portion of the CO detector and the second opening is aligned with the smoke chamber opening. A spoiler includes a U-shaped fin arrangement and is received against the inner cover.

A smoke detector is provided and includes a housing defining a chamber receptive of ambient materials, one or more receivers disposed to receive light reflected from the chamber along one or more receiving axes, respectively, and multiple emitters disposed to emit light of multiple wavelengths, respectively, into the chamber at multiple angles relative to each of the one or more receiving axes, respectively, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine whether a current condition of the chamber should trigger an alarm based on output signals generated by the one or more receivers resulting from light emitted into the chamber by the multiple emitters being reflected toward the one or more receivers by the ambient materials.

Smoke detector

A method for detecting smoke via a chamber-less smoke sensor includes applying one or more filters to eliminate a flooding of ambient light upon the smoke sensor and emitting, by a source, light. At least one detector detects at least a portion of the emitted light and a processor processes the detected light to signal an alarm condition when one or more threshold levels are reached. A chamber-less smoke sensor includes a light source configured to emit light and at least one detector configured to detect at least a portion of the emitted light. An electronic filter and/or a processor is configured to apply one or more filters to eliminate a flooding of ambient light upon the smoke sensor and process the detected light to signal an alarm condition when a threshold level is reached.
