An actuator assembly may comprise a control unit and a shape memory coil spring in electrical communication with the control unit. The shape memory coil spring may increase from a first length to a second length in response to receiving a current from the control unit. The shape memory coil spring may be configured to translate a spacer and/or a slider shaft in response to increasing in length. The shape memory coil spring may be configured to transition a pawl in a latch assembly from a retracted state to an erected state, and vice versa.

In various embodiments, the system includes a drive track; and a drive car configured for motorized translation along a length of the drive track, the drive car including a first plate, a second plate having an upper surface and a lower surface, the first plate pivotally disposed on the upper surface of the second plate, a drive assembly connected to the lower surface of the second plate, and a first strain gauge sensor configured to detect a pivotal movement between the first plate and the second plate of the drive car.

A roller shell may be located radially outward of the brake stack. An energy harvesting brake system may comprise a shaft, a roller cylinder, and a piezoelectric material. The roller cylinder may be configured to rotate relative to the shaft in response to a target moving relative to a platform. The piezoelectric material may be in operable communication with the shaft and the roller cylinder such that relative rotational motion between the shaft and the roller cylinder causes cyclic stress in the piezoelectric material thereby generating electrical energy.

The shaft defines a first shaft groove and a second shaft groove. The first retention pin and the second retention pin are disposed within the shaft. The synchronizer is disposed about the shaft and defines a first synchronizer groove that crosses over the first shaft groove and a second synchronizer groove that crosses over the second shaft groove.

A lock assembly includes a pawl body having first restraint surface and a second restraint surface, wherein the pawl body rotates between an extended position and a retracted position, an inner pawl rotatably coupled to the pawl body, wherein the inner pawl is rotated away from the second restraint surface in the retracted position of the pawl body, and a biasing member associated with the inner pawl, wherein the biasing member urges the inner pawl to be aligned with the second restraint surface in the extended position of the pawl body.
