Techniques are described for the discovery of source range partitioning information. An example method includes a device determining a partition boundary value for the data based at least in part on the following steps. The device can determine a first plurality of bounded value sets and a second plurality of bounded value sets. The device can calculate a first average value of a first value and a second average value. The device can determine a first deviation value of the first average value from the first value and a second deviation value of the second average value from a third value. The device can determine the first partition boundary value based at least in part on the first deviation value and the second deviation value, the first partition boundary value being the first candidate partition boundary value or the second candidate partition boundary value.

Systems and methods are provided for generating a signed identifier associated with an item offer and a user account. When the identifier is submitted to a computing system to redeem an associated offer, a signature within the identifier may be analyzed to confirm that the identifier has not been modified. One or more rendering processes may be executed on a virtual machine operating on a host computing device. Client state information may be monitored to detect periods of inactivity. A rendering process may be inactivated by suspending the virtual machine on which it executes. Upon resumption of activity, the rendering process may be reactivated by resuming execution of the virtual machine.

Techniques for streaming content, such as a video game or whiteboard application, to multiple different clients are described herein. In some cases, differences may exist between characteristics of the different clients such as screen size, resolution, operating system, processors and memories and others. The different clients may be positioned in close proximity to one another or at remote locations with respect to one another. In some cases, different network conditions, such as available bandwidth, loss rates, latency, throughput and others, may exist for transmitting content to the different clients.

Streaming content to multiple clients

A client may, for example, initiate presentation of the content item in a hybrid stream mode in which both a client stream and a content provider stream are combined to form a resulting hybrid stream for presentation. The client may then, at some point during presentation of the content item, detect that the content provider stream has become unavailable. In response to such a determination, the client may continue to present the content item in a client stream mode, in which the client stream is used for presentation of the content item without use of the content provider stream.

Techniques for adaptive content transmission are described herein. During transmission of a content item, a network connection may be monitored to collect data corresponding to one or more network conditions associated with the transmission of the content item. Such network conditions may include, for example, network throughput, available network bandwidth, network latency and others. The collected data may be used to dynamically adjust one or more transmission attributes in connection with the transmitted content item. The one or more transmission attributes may be determined for adjustment at any desired transmission interval.

A method can include a node receiving a token redemption request from a client computing device. The node can determine a destination host management service based at least in part on a geographic proximity of the destination host management service to the client computing device. The destination host management service can be one of a plurality of host management systems distributed across a plurality of data centers. The node can route the token redemption request to the destination host management service. The destination host management service can determine a destination host running an application in one of the plurality of data centers and provision a session between the client computing device and the application running in the destination host.

Application streaming service

A content provider may operate computing nodes configured to provide graphics rendering services to a client running a game or other application. A graphics frame may be rendered and encoded in a format compatible with a client's display device. A second version of the frame may be encoded in a format having selected storage characteristics and compatible with a plurality of display types. The frame may be added to the end of a video stored by the content provider. Frames may be deleted from the video to prevent the video from exceeding a maximum length.

One or more universal serial bus (USB) devices are connected at a client computer. The USB devices are recognized by the client computer and a determination is made as to whether an application server computer provides functionality for one or more of the USB devices.
