A method and device for the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The device includes a cutting device for resection of a thickened myocardium. The operator positions the cutting device adjacent to the myocardium that is to be resected and then slides a tubular blade within an outer shell of the cutting device to resect the septum.

An umbrella has a lower pole and an upper pole and a fabric. The lower pole includes screw threads. A spring clip in an inverted V-shaped configuration has outwardly extending projections removably coupling together the upper pole and the lower pole. A handle is removably coupled to the lower pole to twist the lower pole. Each rib of a plurality of ribs has an interior end and an exterior end. The interior ends of the ribs are coupled to the upper pole. The fabric overlies the ribs. Each tip of a plurality of tips has an upper part and a lower part. The invention also comprises further embodiments of Formula I, intermediates and processes useful for the preparation of compounds of Formula I.

Spiro-tetracyclic ring compounds as beta-secretase modulators and methods of use

The present invention relates to compounds of Formulas I and II, wherein B, B, B, B, C, C, ring D, L, Land Rare defined herein, synthetic intermediates, and pharmaceutical compositions, comprising such compounds. The compounds and compositions are capable of modulating various protein kinase receptors such as Tie-2 and Aurora and, therefore, influencing kinase related disease states and conditions. The compounds, for example, are capable of treating cancer caused by unregulated angiogenesis, and inflammation as well as other proliferative disorders.

The present invention relates to chemical compounds having a general formula I wherein A, B, D, E, G, Hand Rare defined herein, and synthetic intermediates, which are capable of modulating various protein kinase receptor enzymes and, thereby, influencing various disease states and conditions related to the activities of these kinases. For example, the compounds are capable of modulating kinase enzymes thereby influencing the process of angiogenesis and treating angiogenesis-related diseases and other proliferative disorders, including cancer and inflammation. The umbrella includes a shaft, a lower canopy having a central opening, and an upper canopy thereabove over the opening.
