One method may include a user equipment, receiving a message from a network entity comprising an indication of a path control via a configured grant, and, based at least in part on the indication of the path control via the configured grant, performing data transmission over at least one of a direct path with the network entity and an indirect path with the network entity via a relay user equipment.

Control of uplink data split from remote user equipment over multipath

An arrangement for role management in relay communication is disclosed. In relay communication, one user equipment relays communication between a base station and at least one remote user equipment. Initially, the relay user equipment has a better signal to a base station. When the signal changes, a better signal channel may be achieved by switching roles between a relay user equipment and a remote user equipment. This includes detecting that a better signal exists and determining that a change would provide a better signal.

Role management in relay communication

An ARQ system for sidelink communication between transmitter and receiver, with the help of cooperative UE, or relay UE is disclosed. The relay intercepts the initial transmission from transmitter to receiver. If the relay does not intercept any ARQ feedback from the receiver (DTX), it retransmits the initial transmission. Upon receiving at least the Sidelink Control Information, SCI, identifying the retransmission, the transmitter terminates the HARQ process, assuming that the relay is now in charge of the retransmission. Upon reception of the retransmission, the receiver feeds back an HARQ ACK to the relay and the transmitter. If the receiver correctly receives the initial transmission, it feeds back an HARQ ACK to the relay and the transmitter and both relay and transmitter stop the HARQ process. If the relay does not successfully receive the initial transmission, it feds back a NACK to the transmitter which performs retransmission to the relay.

SL data transmission for unicast sidelink between user equipments

A system and method for establishing a unicast sidelink communication channel between a source user equipment (UE) and a target UE via a relay UE is described. The source UE sends a relay request message to a potential relay UE. The message includes information to configure a sidelink Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process with feedback enabled. The information also indicates no transport block for HARQ transmissions to the target UE and enables the relay UE to send a sidelink unicast message to the target UE using the source UE's identifier. The relay UE sends a sidelink message without a transport block to the target UE using the configured common HARQ process and resources and subsequently sends a response message to the source UE indicating an outcome of the HARQ process.

Terminal node to terminal node communication

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of Channel Occupancy Time (COT) for Sidelink (SL) communication in Unlicensed band (U-band). The method includes receiving, at a first device and from a second device, configuration information associated with a COT at least for a SL transmission of the first device on an unlicensed resource pool allocated for the first device, the configuration information at least indicating whether a listen before talk procedure is required to be performed at the first device within the COT before the SL transmission; and performing the SL transmission within the COT based on the configuration information. In this way, the COT sharing mechanism can be used for SL communications in U-band and therefore a sensing procedure for resource selection may not be impacted by the LBT procedure.

Channel occupancy time for sidelink communication in unlicensed band

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for efficiently activating or deactivating user equipment. An example method includes receiving a deactivation request comprising one or more identifiers for one or more user equipment or one or more user equipment groups, determining which one or more user equipment or user equipment groups are impacted by the deactivation request and causing a suspend request to be transmitted to the one or more user equipment or user equipment groups that are impacted. Another example method is provided for receiving an activation request comprising one or more identifiers for one or more user equipment or one or more user equipment groups, determining which one or more user equipment or user equipment groups are impacted by the activation request, and causing a notice to be transmitted to the one or more user equipment or user equipment groups that are impacted.

Method and system for efficiently activating or deactivating user equipment

Various example embodiments provide efficient burst transmission of duplicated data packets. A data burst comprising multiple data packets may be configured to be transmitted on a first transmission leg. The data burst may be further configured to be transmitted on a second transmission leg with a different order of data packets. A reception status of the data packets may be configured to be determined based on transmissions on the first and second transmission legs and non-acknowledged data packets may be retransmitted on the first transmission leg and/or the second transmission leg. Apparatuses, methods, and computer programs are disclosed.

Burst transmission of data packets with feedback

A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided for joint management of resources of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. In one example implementation, the method may include notifying, by a first user equipment (UE), one or more second user equipments (UEs) about a first group of resources selected for sidelink communications. The first user equipment (UE) and the one or more second user equipments (UEs) belong to a group of user equipments (UEs) with the first user equipment (UE) as a lead user equipment (UE) of the group of user equipments (UEs). The example method may further include receiving, by the first user equipment (UE), feedback from the one or more second user equipments (UEs); and determining, by the first user equipment, a second group of resources for sidelink communications of the group of user equipments (UEs), the second group of resources being determined based at least on the feedback received from the one or more second user equipments (UEs).

Coordination of sidelink mode-2 resource reservation for V2X communications

A method may include monitoring, by a source user equipment communicating with a destination user equipment by an indirect communication path via a relay user equipment, sidelink control information from the relay user equipment. The method may also include determining a first set of conditions and a second set of conditions based on the sidelink control information received from the relay user equipment. The method may further include transmitting, when the first set of conditions is met, at least one of a first sidelink message to the destination user equipment according to a first pattern, or a second sidelink message to the relay user equipment according to a second pattern. In addition, the method may include monitoring a sidelink feedback from the destination user equipment to the relay user equipment when the second set of conditions is met according to a third pattern.

An apparatus comprises at least one processor and at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform generating assistance information for a network node. The network node provides a grant of resources for sidelink communications between the apparatus and at least one receiving user equipment. The receiving user equipment is configured to operate in a discontinuous reception mode comprising a discontinuous reception cycle with an active time and an inactive time. Allocating resources for direct user equipment communication

The method includes a processor of a first UE receiving first group information for a user group with user-device members, the first group information including information for mapping a sidelink channel resource for each of the user-device members to perform a groupcast communication over sidelink for the user group, the first UE being a user-device member of the user group. For example, a method can include enabling, for a receiving user equipment, hybrid automatic repeat request negative acknowledgement only feedback. The method can also include first determining whether to condition negative feedback on at least one first condition, or second determining whether negative feedback is conditioned on at least one second condition. The method can further include third determining whether to retransmit a message according to hybrid automatic repeat request according to results of the first determining or the second determining. One embodiment is directed to a method. The method comprises receiving a configuration of a resource pool for sidelink communication; determining there is a need for assistance from one or more other UEs in proximity in resource reservation or resource selection from the configured resource pool for SL communication of the UE; sending a request over SL for the needed assistance from the one or more other UEs in proximity based on the determination; monitoring and receiving possible response from the one or more other UEs in proximity which may include recommended resource from the configured resource pool for the request of UE; selecting resource for SL communication of the UE by taking into account the received response; and performing SL communication using the selected resource.

The method comprises receiving, at a first device, information of a set of resource pools allocated for a predetermined area from a second device and a usage pattern for the set of resource pools from a third device, the usage pattern at least indicating an association between the set of resource pools and at least one property of the predetermined area. The method further comprises determining at least one attribute of the first device related to the at least one property and determining a target resource pool for communication from the set of resource pools based on the at least one attribute, the information and the usage pattern. In the solution, the V2X control device may coordinate the resource pool configuration with the network device and determine polices for the usage of the resource pool. In this way, the resource pool can be configured more efficient for V2X packet distribution and reception.
