An apparatus () for removing bone material comprises a distal cutting instrument () and a proximal cutting instrument (). The distal cutting instrument has at least one first cutting edge (), a shoulder (), and a shaft portion (). The shaft portion () has an anti-rotation feature. The at least one first cutting edge () removes bone material when moved in a first direction. The proximal cutting instrument () is removably attached to the shaft portion (). The proximal cutting instrument () has a first end portion () and a second end portion (). The second end portion () contacts the shoulder () of the distal reamer () when the proximal reamer is mounted to the shaft portion (). The proximal reamer () has at least one second cutting edge () and an aperture. The aperture is adapted to receive the anti-rotation feature of the shaft portion () of the distal reamer (). The at least one second cutting edge () removes bone material when moved in a second direction.

A downhole tool to separate liquid from a drilling fluid includes a multi-vein cyclonic separator disposed within a housing, the cyclonic separator including at least two veins extending in a spiral along the length of the cyclonic separator, holes in the housing positioned adjacent to edges of veins of the cyclonic separator to allow liquid accelerated from the drilling fluid to exit the housing, and wherein the cyclonic separator is configured to provide high centrifugal forces to the drilling fluid downhole.

The present invention relates to universal liner assemblies for use during hip joint replacement surgeries, kits providing a plurality of universal liners, and methods of manufacturing and implanting the universal liners. The universal liners allow the surgeon a greater degree of selection of liners and shells, without being tied to typical liner/shell connections based on material connection constraints.

A back reaming tool is disclosed which includes a tool body adapted to be coupled to a drill string, and at least cutting structure mounted to a leg and having cutting elements disposed thereon. The leg is removably coupled to the tool body.

Cutter elements for use in rolling cones rock bits are disclosed having a crown that includes multiple, spaced-apart cusps for enhancing formation removal by creating overlapping Hertzian contact zones. The cusps may be partially dome-shaped, berm shaped or otherwise. The cutter elements provide multiple cutting edges for engaging the formation and may have differing radii and extension length as suitable for particular applications.

A back reaming tool is disclosed which includes a tool body adapted to be coupled to a drill string, and at least one roller cone rotatably mounted to a leg and having cutting elements disposed thereon. The leg is removably coupled to the tool body. The at least one roller cone is open at only one axial end thereof.

A rotary cutter mount for an earth-boring cutter includes a bearing journal adapted to be coupled to a cutter body. A first mounting end of the bearing journal is shaped to enable rotationally fixed positioning in a corresponding yoke. The yoke is operatively coupled to the body of the cutter. A ball race is formed in an exterior surface of the journal. A ball loading passage is formed in the journal. The ball loading passage has an exit hole on the race. The hole is positioned so that it is disposed in a rotary orientation which is at a selected angular displacement from the maximum radial loading on the journal. The first mounting end and the corresponding yoke are adapted to enable a plurality of rotary orientations. Each of the rotary orientations is such that the hole is oriented other than in the direction of maximum radial loading.

Mounting attachment and bearing system for an industrial earth-boring cutter

A roller cone drill bit is disclosed which includes a bit body having at least one leg depending from the bit body. The leg has a journal formed on it at a lower end. The bit body includes an air channel extending at least from an interior of the bit body to the seal area of the journal. A roller cone is sealingly, rotatably mounted on the journal. The cone has a plurality of cutting elements disposed on it. The bit includes a backflow valve disposed in the bit body, so that an intake end of the air channel is disposed upstream of the backflow valve. In one embodiment, the backflow valve is disposed in a connection end of the bit body, and the air channel includes a flow tube extending from the air passage in the bit body to the backflow valve so that its intake end is upstream of the backflow valve.
