A system for a microscope includes a display and an input interface. The system is configured to reproduce, in response to a user input to the input interface, a virtual tour of use of the microscope via the display. The system can be applied, for example, for teaching of microscopy at schools and universities.

A microscope arrangement includes a plurality of microscopes, and a control device having a display screen and a data link. The display screen is configured to show microscopy data of the microscopes via the data link using display symbols, each display symbol representing microscopy data received by the control device from a different one of the microscopes. In at least one operational state of the control device, the display symbols are moveable on the display screen to correspond to an arrangement of the microscopes.

A microscope arrangement includes a plurality of microscopes arranged in a geometric pattern. A control device has a display screen and a data link. The data link connects the microscopes to the control device and is configured to transfer microscopy data at least from the microscopes to the control device. The display screen comprises display symbols. Each display symbol represents microscopy data received by the control device from a different one of the microscopes. The display symbols are, in at least one operational state of the control device, arranged moveable on the display screen and are adapted to be moved into the geometric pattern.

Microscope arrangement comprising a plurality of microscopes, and method for operating a plurality of microscopes, in particular in a learning environment

A microscopy laboratory system for efficient instruction is disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of student microscopes each equipped with a camera for generating an image signal representing a student view image of at least a portion of the field of view of the student microscope, multiplexed control means connected by video cables or wireless technology to the cameras to provide a composite instruction image signal based on student view images from one or more selected microscopes, and a projection unit or other public display for presenting the instruction image to the students in the laboratory. An instructor microscope can also be coupled into the system, and a display image marker is preferably linked to the multiplexed control means for inserting instructor annotations into the displayed instruction image.

Method and apparatus for automatically shutting off a microscope

Microscopes having plastic components such as knobs, covers and eyepiece rings are rendered antistatic by using static charge dissipating plastic materials instead of conventional plastics. Such antistatic microscopes are especially useful in the manufacture and inspection of semi-conductors which are easily damaged by exposure to static charges.
