Disclosed herein is a dental device for delivering fluid continuously while activated in an endodontic application. The dental device includes a hollow needle having a tip end and a connector portion; and a handle. One end of the handle is configured to be affixed to the connector portion of the hollow needle. The opposite end of the handle is capable of being attached to an endodontic handpiece or a sonic agitator for the activation. The connector portion includes at least one tube connector that is an integral part of the connector portion of the hollow needle or a plurality of openings on the connector portion to accommodate the hollow needle to a connector. The connector is a modular fluid delivery connector which is removable from the needle such that it can be reused.

Device for continuous irrigation with activation in endodontics application

A needle comprising a luer lock connection, an internal fluid delivery conduit, exit ports and an outer profile shaped to match a geometry created by a previous canal shaping instrument. A shape of the needle and features of the exit ports are configured to maximize the amount of shear wall stress and debridement created along the wall of a root canal to be irrigated.

A method for manufacturing a nonlinear superelastic file comprising the steps of: providing a superelastic file having a shaft and a file axis; providing a fixture including a file groove being defined by one or more displacement members, the file groove configured for receiving the shaft; inserting at least a portion of the shaft into the fixture along the file groove, the portion of the shaft including a first portion of the shaft; contacting the first portion of the shaft with a first displacement member of the one or more displacement members such that the first portion of the shaft is displaced from the file axis thereby forming a first offset portion of the shaft; heating the portion of the shaft while inserted in the fixture to a temperature of at least about 300&#xb0; C. for a time period of at least about 1 minute to shape-set the portion of the shaft thereby forming a shape-set nonlinear file.

The thrust bearing system further includes a secondary thrust bearing surface on the leg configured to contact a corresponding secondary bearing surface on the roller cone, wherein the secondary thrust bearing surface on the leg includes at least two air circulation ports located at specified locations in the secondary bearing surface and in communication with the air channel, and wherein a first circulation port is located in an upper half of the secondary thrust bearing surface and a second circulation port is located in a lower half of the secondary thrust bearing surface.
