Embodiments of electronic accessories for digital music players are disclosed herein. Other examples and related methods are also disclosed herein.

Electronic accessories for digital music players and related methods

In one embodiment, an electronic accessory configured to couple with an electronic device can comprise a housing and a spacer. The housing can comprise a body comprising a width, a length, and a thickness; and a neck extending from the body, the neck comprising a length less than the length of the body. The spacer can comprise an opening configured to be removably coupled around the neck. When the electronic accessory is fully electrically coupled to the electronic device through a docking end of the electronic device, the neck can be located between the body and the electronic device and the electronic device remains uncradled by the electronic accessory. Other embodiments and related methods are also disclosed herein.

Electronic accessory for an MP3 player, and method of providing the same

In one embodiment, an electronic accessory for coupling electronic devices to an external power supply includes: (a) a holder having: (1) a cradle section configured to couple to at least two of the electronic devices, the cradle section comprising a power coupling; and (2) two or more side supports, each of the two or more side supports configured to removably couple to the cradle section; and (b) a power unit electrically coupled to the power coupling and configured to removably couple to the external power supply. At least a first one of the two or more side supports is configured to provide support to a first one of the electronic devices when the first one of the electronic devices is coupled to the cradle section. At least a second one of the two or more side supports is configured to provide support to a second one of the electronic devices when the second one of the electronic devices is coupled to the cradle section. An electronic accessory () for an MP3 player comprising: (a) a body () having a neck () extending from the body, the neck having a cross-sectional dimension that is substantially less than a corresponding cross-sectional dimension of the body; (b) an electrical connector () located at least partially within the neck and configured to electrically connect the accessory to the MP3 player; (c) at least one electrical components () located at least partially within the body; and (d) a at least two electrical conductors () electrically coupling the electrical components to the electrical connector.

A safety mechanism capable of blocking an opening to an electrical connection in an electrical outlet includes a safety barrier coupled to the electrical outlet at a pivot point and a biasing member adjacent to the safety barrier. The safety barrier is rotatable between a first position, in which the safety barrier blocks the opening, and a second position, in which the safety barrier does not block the opening. The biasing member biases the safety barrier toward the first position. In the same or another embodiment of the invention, the safety mechanism forms a part of one or more electrical outlets contained in an electrical product.
