A tray for providing a plurality of different modular fiber optic cassette configurations may comprise a tray member that may support a plurality of different modular fiber optic cassette configurations in a standard U-space width. The different modular fiber optic cassette configurations may include different sizes of modular fiber optic cassettes. Each of the different sizes of modular fiber optic cassettes may support a fiber optic receptable module that may fit in a standard one width (1W) unit. The plurality of different sizes of modular fiber optic cassettes may include a 2W cassette size that may fit a standard two width (2W) unit (relative to the standard one width, (1W) unit), a 3W cassette size that may fit a standard three width (3W) unit, a 4W cassette size that may fit a standard four width (4W) unit, and/or a 6W cassette size that may fit a standard six width (6W) unit.

Tray system for providing modular cassette configurations in a fiber optic management system

A tray means for providing a plurality of different modular fiber optic cassette configurations that may comprise a tray member that may support a plurality of different modular fiber optic cassette configurations in a standard U-space width. The different modular fiber optic cassette configurations may include different sizes of modular fiber optic cassettes. Each of the different sizes of modular fiber optic cassettes may support a fiber optic receptable module that may fit in a standard one width (1W) unit. Tray means for providing a plurality of different modular cassette configurations in a fiber optic management system

An apparatus for maintaining cross-talk below a predetermined threshold is disclosed. The apparatus comprises cable mating zone for connecting each of a first set of contact pairs with a respective twisted pair of cable conductors, a device mating zone for connecting each of a second set of contact pairs with a respective pair of device contacts and an intermediate transmission zone for connecting each of the first set of contact pairs with a respective one of the second set of contact pairs. In each of the zones the cross talk noise is prevented from exceeding a predetermined cross talk noise threshold.

Compensating connector system

A fiber optic cross connect system comprising a case defining a tray receiving space and at least one tray slideable in and out of the space between a first closed position, a second intermediate position and a third open or accessible position and a sliding engagement between a sidewall of the case and a side edge of the tray is disclosed. The sliding engagement comprises an elongate link member which is stationary as the tray is moved between the first closed position and the second intermediate position and moves with the tray as the tray is moved between the second intermediate and the third open position and such that the elongate link member does not interfere with fiber optic cables which are interconnecting external devices with devices on the tray. In a particular embodiment the link member is held stationary by a releasable locking mechanism.

Cross connect system and tray

An assembly for guiding an optic fiber cable comprising a tray configured to move between a first position and a second position and a guide. A first end portion of the guide is configured to move relative to the tray during operation and a second end portion is configured to move with the tray during operation. The guide comprises a bend limiting passage configured to follow a curve shape having a radius that is greater than a predetermined minimum bend radius and such that an optic fiber that is received between the first end portion of the guide and the second end portion of the guide follows the curve shape so as to prevent the optic fiber from becoming snagged on the tray, hindering movement of the tray or becoming overly bent during operation of the assembly.

A method for organising a tray comprising a front edge in a fiber optic interconnect system is disclosed. The method comprises defining a standard width unit wherein a width of the front edge is substantially evenly divisible by the standard width unit, selecting a plurality of cassettes for installation on the tray from a set of cassettes having a plurality of different cassette widths as measured between outer side edges thereof, wherein each of the different cassette widths is evenly divisible by the standard width unit, and releasably securing said selected cassettes along the front edge of the tray, wherein when arranged on the tray an outer side edge of each of said selected cassettes is directly adjacent an outer side edge of at least one other selected cassette.

A compensating plug connector comprising a plug, a receptacle mating zone, a cable mating zone and an intermediate zone. Each of the zones is such that Near End Cross Talk (NEXT) resulting from transmission of the high frequency signal across each zone is below a specified amount chosen such that NEXT introduced by a high frequency signal transmission between via all the zones is below a level as specified for the cabling category.

A flexible cable guide and enclosure is disclosed for guiding one or more optic fiber cables between an outside of the enclosure and a moveable tray inside the enclosure on which devices terminating the one or more cables are mounted. A first end of the cable guide is secured to an outside of the enclosure and a second end is secured to the tray for movement therewith. The flexible cable guide ensures that the optic fiber cables transition smoothly from the outside of the enclosure to the devices.

A fiber optic cassette system is disclosed comprising a case defining a tray receiving space and an opening to a space, a tray received within the case for movement between a stored position wherein the tray is inside the case and an accessible position wherein a front end of the tray is in front of the opening and outside of the case, fiber optic cassettes arrangeable side by side along the tray front end, a first of the cassettes comprising a width of one of one, two, three, four or six standard width units and a second of the cassettes comprising a width different from the first cassette width and one of one, two, three, four or six standard width units, and a fastener for removeably the cassettes to the tray. When arranged on the tray each of said selected cassettes is directly adjacent at least one other selected cassette.

The system comprises a case defining a tray receiving space and an opening to a tray receiving space, at least one tray slideably received within the case for movement between a stored position wherein the tray is inside the case and an accessible position wherein a front end of the tray is in front of the opening and outside of the case, a plurality of fiber optic cassettes arrangeable side by side along the tray front end, a first of the cassettes comprising a first cassette width of one of one, two, three, four or six standard width units and a second of the cassettes comprising a second cassette width different from the first cassette width and one of one, two, three, four or six standard width units, and a fastener assembly for removeably securing each of the cassettes to the tray.

A fiber optic cross connect system comprising a case defining a tray receiving space and at least one tray slideable in and out of the space between a first closed position, a second intermediate position and a third open or accessible position and a sliding engagment between a sidewall of the case and a side edge of the tray is disclosed. The sliding engagment comprises an elongate link member which is stationary as the tray is moved between the first closed position and the second intermediate position and moves with the tray as the tray is moved between the second intermediate and the third open position and such that the elongate link member does not interfere with fiber optic cables which are interconnecting external devices with devices on the tray.
