The present invention relates to a guidance for treatment of a chronic total occlusion. In order to provide improved guidance information for chronic total occlusion treatment, a device () for guidance for treatment of a chronic total occlusion is provided that comprises an image supply (), a data processor () and an output (). The image supply provides a sequence of angiographic images comprising a vascular structure. The data processor detects at least one portion of the vascular structure indicating a total occlusion of a vessel based on the sequence of angiographic images; and determines an image of the sequence of images that shows at least one segment of the vessel next to the total occlusion; and generates guidance image data based on the determined image. The output provides the generated guidance image data. Thus, additional information relating to spatial aspects is provided to the user based on 2D image data.

Guidance for treatment of a chronic total occlusion

The invention provides an ultrasound data processing method () for detecting presence of an intravascular object in a vessel lumen based on analysis of acquired intravascular ultrasound data of the lumen. The method comprises receiving () data comprising multiple frames, and each frame containing data for a plurality of radial lines, corresponding to different circumferential positions around the IVUS device body, and reducing () the data to a single representative value for each radial line in each frame. These representative values are subsequently processed to derive () values for at least each frame representative of a probability of presence of an object within the given frame. An apparatus for determining a functional index for stenosis assessment of a vessel is provided. The apparatus comprises an input interface () and a processing unit (). Intravascular ultrasound imaging

An apparatus for determining a functional index for stenosis assessment of a vessel is provided. The apparatus comprises an input interface () and a processing unit (). The input interface is configured to obtain image data () representing a two-dimensional representation of a vessel (). The processing unit () is configured to determine a course of the vessel () and a width (ww) of the vessel along its course in the image data and is further configured to determine the functional index for stenosis assessment of the vessel based on the width of the vessel in the image data.

During a medical intervention such as an angiography, the X-ray examination equipment (such as that mounted on a C-arm) produces a very large number of imaging frames of the intervention, as it progresses. This information contains frame sequences which can be effectively used to improve a medical report of the intervention. The sequence will contain sequences which contain similar clinical information though, and these frames may be considered to be redundant and not useful for inclusion in the medical report. The aspects detailed herein enable a selection of non-redundant sequences and/or frames, based on contextual information, obtained from the sequence of images, and/or other medical equipment, during an intervention. In this way, the redundancy inherent in the original frame sequence can be removed, leaving a set of prepared candidate sequences for insertion into a multimedia or documentary medical report.

Medical reporting apparatus

An apparatus provides a patient specific 3D model of a body part. At least one 2D X-ray image including 2D X-ray image data of a vascular structure of a patient's body part is provided. A 3D model of the body part is provided, the 3D model including a 3D modelled vascular structure. At least one parameter commands an appearance of the 3D modelled vascular structure. The 3D modelled vascular structure is compared with the 2D X-ray image data of the vascular structure to determine the at least one parameter. The 3D model is updated as a function of the determined at least one parameter. A medical report is generated based on information determined from the 3D model.

A device for medical imaging of coronary vessels includes a data extracting module configured to extract a first vessel map from computed tomography angiography data covering at least one reference cardiac phase and a set of second vessel maps from three-dimensional rotational angiography data covering at least one cardiac cycle. An interpolation module is configured to generate a series of warped versions of the first vessel map aligned with the set of second vessel maps, the series starting at the at least one reference cardiac phase. A merging module is configured to merge the series and the set of second vessel maps at the different phases in order to generate a final imaging map of the coronary vessels.

The present invention relates to apparatus for automatic quantification of a part of vascular structure. It is described to provide () at least one first image comprising a spatial representation of a region of interest of a vascular structure, wherein the at least one first image comprises image data representative of a location of a part of a medical device. The medical device is configured to be used in a vascular treatment, and the part of the medical device is configured to be in a plurality of states associated with different phases of the vascular treatment. The present invention relates to localization of a vascular treatment and quantification of a part of a vascular structure.
