The present invention relates to positioning of stents or other medical interventional devices. In order to provide an improved marker detection suitable for smaller markers, a device () for positioning a medical interventional device is provided. The device comprises a data input interface (), a data processing unit () and a data output interface (). The data input interface is configured to provide at least one image of a region of interest of a subject. In the at least one image, at least a part of a guiding apparatus for a medical interventional device is arranged in the region of interest, which part of the guiding apparatus comprises at least one apparatus position marker visible in the at least one image. Further, in the at least one image, a medical interventional device is arranged at least partly in the region of interest, which medical interventional device comprises device position markers, which are less visible in the image than the at least one apparatus position marker. The data processing unit is configured to detect the at least one apparatus position marker in the at least one image, and to define a proximity region in the at least one image based on the at least one apparatus position marker, and to select the proximity region, to detect the device position markers in the proximity region, and to enhance the device position markers in the at least one image for supporting a positioning of the medical interventional device. The data output interface is configured to provide the at least one image with the enhanced device position markers.

A concept mapper (CM) is configured to map the query to one or more associated concept entries of a hierarchic graph data structure (ONTO). Device, system and method for interacting with vessel images

The present invention relates to vascular treatment outcome visualization. To provide an enhanced possibility to check that a vascular treatment has been correctly performed, it is proposed to provide () a first image data () of a region of interest of a vascular structure at a first point in time, and to provide () at least one second image data () of the region of interest of the vascular structure at a second point in time, wherein a vascular treatment has been applied to the vascular structure between the first point in time and the second point in time. The present invention relates to visualizing vasculature structure. In order to provide an improved visualizing a course of a vasculature structures with an occlusion, it is provided: a) to determine () a region of interest in a first image of a sequence of a cardiac vasculature structure, which is at least partly injected with contrast agent; wherein the vasculature structure comprises an occlusion and wherein vessel portions distal of the occlusion are non-visible; b) to identify () a trajectory proposal from a proximal vessel portion that is visible in the image to a distal portion of the occlusion as a first estimation of the non-visible vessel portions; c) to modify () the trajectory proposal generating a plurality of possible trajectories for matching with the vessel course in a next image of the sequence; d) to determine () a plausibility value for each of the possible trajectories; e) to select () the possible trajectory with the highest plausibility value as vessel course indicator for the first image; f) to repeat () steps c) to e) for each image of the sequence to achieve a sequence of vessel course indicators; g) to associate () the vessel course indicators to the images corresponding to the same heart phase of the sequence of the cardiac vasculature structure; and h) to display () an illustration of the cardiac vasculature structure with the associated course indicators.

Automated identification of an anatomy part

The present invention relates to automatic absorption means positioning in X-ray image acquisition. To improve image quality and to optimize the radiation exposure of an object, optimal position for X-ray absorption means is provided. A first sequence () of X-ray images is acquired (). For each of the images, the optimal position () for X-ray absorption means is determined (). A second sequence () of X-ray images is associated 10 () with corresponding images of the first sequence. The determined optimal position for the absorption means () of the associated corresponding images of the first sequence () is selected for an acquisition of the second sequence (). Hence, a situation-specific database with optimized positions for the absorption means is generated on behalf of the first sequence in order to provide the generated position information for the actual acquisition of a 15 second sequence of images.

Automatic positioning of absorption means in X-ray image acquisition

An apparatus configured to generate for display a plurality of vasculature views alongside a live fluoroscopy image. The views are selected in such a way that they allow visualizing the 3D structure of the vasculature segment in which the device is currently navigating. The view is best relative to one or a weighted average of a plurality of goodness of view standards. As the device progresses and new fluoroscopy images are acquired, the views are updated accordingly.

Real-time display of vasculature views for optimal device navigation

An image processor (IP) and an image processing method to support cardio- or neuro-interventions. An imager () acquires a series of fluoroscopic images (F) while an interventional tool progresses through a region of interest (ROI) such as a cardiac vasculature. Image processor (IP) operates to select from a plurality of stored angiograms (A) previously acquired of the region of interest a contextual one from which a contextual roadmap (RM) can be extracted. The contextual roadmap is selected to fit to both, a current cardiac phase and the current position of the device (GW). The selected contextual angiogram and its contextual roadmap is capable of showing the outlines of the vasculature (ROI) at the current device position at high contrast.

A medical viewing system with an X-ray image acquisition device for acquiring angiograms and interventional live images of vessels is adapted for generating a region of interest border into which an object referenced by an object-based registration process must extend in order to achieve an accurate registration of vessel trees extracted from the angiogram and the live images. The region of interest border is then overlaid onto the vessel tree images and the live images. The medical viewing system reminds the person accomplishing the intervention of the importance of pushing the object far enough into the image, while being discrete enough to be ignored if preferred, thus yielding in a reliable and precise road mapping processing.

Mask construction for cardiac subtraction

A method for dynamically visualizing coronary information and an apparatus adapted to implement such method is described. In a preferred embodiment of the method, first dynamic cardiac data is acquired during a first cardiac stage and second dynamic cardiac data is acquired during a second cardiac stage. Then, the two data sets are visualized continuously the in a superimposed presentation, wherein the first cardiac data and the second cardiac data corresponding to a same phase within the cardiac cycle are visualized simultaneously. In this way for example information about the vessel geometry may be immediately linked with information about the muscle irrigation or perfusion. Furthermore, this useful information may be displayed in a high-contrasted and low-noise presentation.
