A motor vehicle exhaust pipe includes: an outer metal tube; at least one inner tube made from an inorganic matrix composite material and disposed inside the outer metal tube, each inner tube being arranged longitudinally and having a pre-determined longitudinal length and a gap being provided between each inner tube and the outer tube; and elements for maintaining each inner tube in position in relation to the outer tube. The elements for maintaining each inner tube in position in relation to the outer tube include at least one retaining element disposed in the gap between the inner tube and the outer tube, each retaining element exerting a minimum pressure of between 10MPa and 10MPa on the inner tube. All of the elements used to maintain one inner tube in position have a cumulative longitudinal length equal to less than half of the longitudinal length of the inner tube.

This exhaust manifold comprises: an outer envelope comprising: at least one flange connected to the outer shell and having at least one gas circulation port, the outer envelope having at least one gas circulation port; at least one internal duct () arranged inside the outer envelope and opening via a gas circulation port, characterized in that: the or each internal duct () is formed, at least for the most part of its length, of a ceramic material and is engaged through the or each port; and it comprises an annular diaphragm () that is impermeable to the gases but radially and axially elastically deformable and positioned around the or each internal duct (), between the or each internal duct () and the outer envelope (), the diaphragm () being connected at its periphery to at least one out of the outer envelope () and the or each internal duct ().

Double-shell manifold

A manifold for exhaust gases from a motor vehicle engine, includes upper and lower half-shells (A,B) delimiting between them an exhaust gas pipe, and aligned bores designed to be arranged in the extension of the engine exhaust outlets, the half-shells having each a peripheral edge and being attached to each other via at least first segments (A,B) of their peripheral edges welded to each other. The invention is characterized in that there is at least one median plane (P) passing through the bores and traversed at least twice by the first segments (A,B).

Exhaust manifold

An exhaust line element for a supercharged heat engine includes an exhaust manifold and a turbocompressor. The manifold includes at least two separate inlets equipped with connection elements at the outlet of the cylinders of the engine and a discharge outlet for the exhaust gases which is common to the different inlets and which is connected to the inlet tube of the turbocompressor, a bundle of internal tubes converging towards the outlet, each from an inlet of the manifold, and an outer casing inside which the bundle of tubes extends. The inlet tube and the discharge outlet are connected by a peripheral weld seam provided between the outer casing and the inlet tube, and the bundle of tubes is left free from any welding to the inlet tube at the discharge outlet.
