A method and apparatus for encrypted universal resource identifier (URI) based messaging is described. In one embodiment of the method, a server computing system receives an encrypted message from a first client computing system over a network, decrypts the encrypted message, stores the decrypted message in a message data store, and generates a shortened uniform resource locator (URL) for subsequent retrieval of the stored message. The server computing system sends the shortened URL to the first client computing system. Subsequently, the server computing system receives from a requesting computing system, a request, including the shortened URL, to retrieve the stored message, encrypts the stored message in a uniform resource identifier (URI) with an encryption type URI, and sends the encrypted URI to the requesting computing system.

Encrypted universal resource identifier (URI) based messaging

A server receives identifying information of a user of a client device and data encrypted with a public key of a group, where the encrypted data includes an encrypted session key for secure content. The server determines whether the user is a member of the group using the identifying information of the user. If the user is a member of the group, the server decrypts the encrypted session key using a private key of the group, and causes the client device to obtain a session key to access the secure content.

Session key proxy decryption method to secure content in a one-to-many relationship

A method and apparatus for encrypted universal resource identifier (URI) based messaging is described. In one embodiment of the method, a computing system receives an encrypted message from a first client computing system over a network, stores the received message in a message data store, generates a shortened uniform resource locator (URL) for subsequent retrieval of the stored message, and sends the shortened URL to the first client computing system. Subsequently, the computing system receives a request, including the shortened URL, from a second client computing system to retrieve the stored message. The computing system encrypts the stored message in a URI and sends the URI to the second client computing system.

A computing device receives a command to restrict access to encrypted data. The computing device generates a new record that can access the encrypted data. The computing device encrypts the record information for the new record using a public key of a trusted entity. The computing device prevents access to the encrypted data for a previously generated record or records.
