A method for making a screen assembly for a vibratory separator, the method including, in at least certain aspects, gluing together with glue at least two layers of fine screening material, allowing the glue to set, preheating the glued together at least two layers of fine screening material, placing the thus-preheated at least two layers of fine screening material in a heating apparatus, placing a coarse mesh layer on the at least two layers of screening material on the heating apparatus, placing on the coarse mesh layer a support with heat activated material thereon for adhering the support to the coarse mesh layer, and heating the coarse mesh layer, at least two fine layers of fine screening material, and the support to adhere the support to the coarse mesh layer and to glue the at least two layers of fine screening material to the coarse mesh layer.

Screens for vibratory separators

Screens and screen assemblies for a vibratory separator or shale shaker, such screens and screen assemblies made by a method including applying glue in a glue pattern to at least one layer of screening material, said applying done by powered moving mechanical glue application apparatus; in one aspect moving with powered mechanical screen movement apparatus the at least one layer of screening material beneath the powered moving mechanical glue application apparatus; in one aspect, using hot melt moisture-curing glue, and in one aspect facilitating the cure of moisture-curing glue by applying moisture to it.

Methods for making screen assemblies and screens for a vibratory separator or shale shaker, such methods including applying glue in a glue pattern to at least one layer of screening material, said applying done by powered moving mechanical glue application apparatus; in one aspect moving with powered mechanical screen movement apparatus the at least one layer of screening material beneath the powered moving mechanical glue application apparatus; in one aspect, using hot melt moisture-curing glue, and in one aspect facilitating the cure of moisture-curing glue by applying moisture to it.

Methods for making glued shale shaker screens

A method for making a screen assembly for a vibratory separator, which, in certain aspects, includes placing a first layer of screening material below a glue application apparatus, and applying with the glue apparatus an amount of glue in a pattern to a portion of the first layer of screening material, unrolling part of a second layer from a second roll and positioning the part of the second layer adjacent part of the first layer to which glue has been applied, moving the part of the second layer and the part of the first layer between opposed rotatable spaced-apart rollers to press together the part of the second layer and the part of the first layer to form a pressed-together layer of first and second layers of screening material. In certain aspects hot glue is used and is cooled following application of the second layer on the first layer.

Method for making vibratory separator screens

A method for making a screen for a vibratory separator, the method including placing at least one layer of screening material below a glue application apparatus, the glue application apparatus including a main body and a plurality of movable glue nozzles movably connected to the body, applying with the movable glue nozzles an amount of glue, in a pattern to at least a portion of the at least one layer of screening material by moving the movable glue nozzles over the at least one layer of screening material. The method wherein the glue application apparatus includes at least one stationary glue nozzle secured immovably to the main body, the method including applying at least one shearable glue bead having a length to the screening material so that shearing the screening material along the length of the at least one shearable glue bead produces separate sections of the screening material.

Glue pattern screens and methods of production

A screen assembly which, in at least certain aspects, has at least one wire mesh screen formed with undulating mesh material having a series of ridges spaced apart by a series of valleys, a corrugated perforated plate with an undulating shape corresponding to the undulating mesh material of the at least one wire mesh screen, the at least one wire mesh screen on the corrugated perforated plate, a series of spaced apart rods all of which are in one plane, the corrugated perforated plate mounted on the rods of the series of spaced apart rods, and each rod having a length and independent of and not connected to the other rods along its length by any member in the same plane as the rods, each rod having two spaced apart ends.

Vibratory separator screens

A screen assembly for a vibratory separator, the screen assembly including at least one lower coarse screen member, at least one upper fine screen member above the at least one lower coarse screen member and fused with plastic to the at least one lower coarse screen member, and a strip member beneath and adhered to the at least one lower coarse screen member. In one aspect the strip member includes two side strips, two end pieces, and a plurality of spaced-apart strips parallel to the two side strips each with an end terminating at, in, or on each of the end pieces.

Screen apparatus for vibratory separator

A screen is disclosed which, in certain aspects, has screening material between opposed frame sides and one or more lower strips beneath the screen. In one aspect these strips are only inteconnected via their ends and not along their lengths. In certain aspects, a plurality of lower strips are bonded to the screen and extend across the screen from one frame side to the other. In one aspect one or more of the strips has one, two, or more humps or ridges corresponding to one or more corrugations in a corrugated perforated plate and/or corrugated screen assembly which is on the plate or, with no plate present, on the strips. In another aspect instead of the strips a solid corrugated perforated plate is used. In one aspect openings or perforations through the plate are triangular. In one aspect the screen is undulating screening material and lower portions of the screening material are bonded to a plate or to strips. Optionally screen mounting hooks or frame edges or screen edges may be used with such screens. A screening apparatus or shale shaker is disclosed which uses such plates and screens.

A screen for a shale shaker has screening material between opposed frame sides and one or more lower strips beneath the screen. In one aspect a plurality of lower strips are bonded to the screen and extend across the screen from one frame side to the other. In one aspect the screen is undulating screening material and lower portions of the screening material are bonded to the strips.

Screens have been developed which, in one aspect, have interconnection apparatus including male projections on one first screen end which are received in female openings on another adjacent screen end. In one aspect the female openings are defined by raised portions of a three-dimensional screen and the male projections either are formed of the other screen's end or are part of plugs inserted into raised portions of the first screen end. A shale shaker has been developed with such screens. In one aspect such a shale shaker has screens disposed in a tiered configuration, one screen in sealing contact with the next. Screen connector apparatus has also been developed for such screens.

Shale shaker screens

A grid structure and screen device including the grid structure are provided for a vibrating shaker for filtering solids out of a moving fluid stream passing across this screen device. The grid structure has openings defined by intersecting lines of substantially continuous solid grid lines forming an angle. The angle formed at the intersection being from between less than 90.degree. and more than 0.degree., such that the grid structure fatigued resistance is enhanced while providing maximum open area therethrough.
