Disclosed is a vacuum pick up cap for use with receptacles. This vacuum pick up cap has a planer top section which is adapted to be engaged by a vacuum nozzle and a lower section from which a plurality of pegs project to engage apertures in the top surface of the receptacle. These pegs have upper and lower longitudinal sections having different axial dimensions so as to be engageable with receptacles having different size apertures. These upper and lower sections may also have longitudinal axes which are laterally displaced from each other to enable the cap to be used on receptacles having rows of apertures which are displaced at different distances.

A retention system for retaining a connector housing to a substrate includes a pair of slotted arms extending from the housing and a wedge-shaped abutment member having a camming surface and a latching surface thereon. One leg of an L-shaped clip is insertable into a channel defined by the slotted arms. The top edge of this leg of the clip is notched to form a tab. The clip is deflectable by the camming surface as the leg advances into the channel until the latch bar on the clip snaps into latching engagement with the latching surface on the abutment member, thereby to secure the clip to the housing. The second leg of the clip is bent to underlie the connector housing when the clip is attached thereto.

Incorrect pairing of subsidiary printed circuit boards on opposite sides of a main circuit board is prevented by providing a key or orientation insert on each subsidiary circuit board which projects more than half way through an aperture in the main circuit board. Only subsidiary circuit boards with orientation inserts that complement one another in the main circuit board aperture can be mounted opposite one another on the main circuit board.
