A method including running a local low frequency clock in a node in a network during a battery conserving sleep mode, waking from the sleep mode at a time boundary determined by the low frequency clock, updating a representation of a master time based on a calculation and the time boundary, advancing the representation of master time based on a local high frequency clock while the node is awake, receiving a time synchronization signal from a node in the network, updating the calculation based on a difference between the representation of master time and a time provided in the time synchronization signal, setting a new time boundary, and returning to the sleep mode.

Wireless sensor time synchronization

A cloud-enabled low power Wi-Fi device is provided that includes a transceiver, a programmable processor, and executable control software stored on a non-transitory computer readable medium. The transceiver can be in a low power sleep mode until the programmable processor and the executable control software detect a first condition. When the programmable processor and the executable control software detect the first condition, the transceiver can exit the low power sleep mode and the programmable processor and the executable software can construct and transmit a message, via the transceiver, to a remote device. When the programmable processor and the executable control software detect a second condition, the transceiver can reenter the low power sleep mode.

Cloud-enabled low power Wi-Fi sensor

A system receives an identification number from a subject. The system retrieves a biometric measurement from a database using the identification number. The database includes biometric measurements of a plurality of subjects. Each biometric measurement is determined from a location of a particular subject's body, each biometric measurement is associated with a particular identification number, and each particular identification number is associated with a particular subject. When the use of the identification number results in a retrieval of a biometric measurement from the biometric database, the system searches a plurality of locations on the subject and takes biometric measurements at the locations, compares the retrieved biometric measurement from the biometric database with the biometric measurements of the subject, and indicates that the retrieved biometric measurement from the biometric database matches one or more of the biometric measurements from the subject or that the retrieved biometric measurement from the biometric database does not match any of the biometric measurements from the subject. In an embodiment, the system is used for verification purposes, not identification purposes.

System and method for anonymous biometrics analysis

A system using face and iris image capture for recognition of people. The system may have wide field-of-view, medium field-of-view and narrow field-of-view cameras to capture images of a scene of people, faces and irises for processing and recognition. Matching of the face and iris images with images of a database may be a basis for recognition and identification of a subject person.

Combined face and iris recognition system

An apparatus includes a video sensing device, a velocity vector estimator (VVE) coupled to the video sensing device, a controller coupled to the velocity vector estimator, and an orthogonal transfer charge-coupled device (OTCCD) coupled to the controller. The video sensing device transmits a plurality of image frames to the velocity vector estimator. The controller receives a location of an object in a current frame, stores locations of the object in one or more previous frames, predicts a motion trajectory and the predicted location of the object on it in a subsequent frame as a function of the locations of the object in the current frame and the one or more previous frames, and transmits the predicted location of the object to the OTCCD. The OTCCD shifts its image array of pixels as a function of the predicted location of the object.

Controller for an image stabilizing orthogonal transfer charge-coupled device

A modular biometrics collection system with an architecture having application to a combined features recognition system. The system may be a self-organizing mesh of collaborative independent components. Each component may have inputs, outputs, and local prioritization management. Each component may operate autonomously. Federated behavior of the components may be achieved by subscribing to content that influences local prioritization. An example of the system may have application to combined face and iris recognition.

Modular biometrics collection system architecture

A method and apparatus for automatically focusing a camera that may rely upon ambient light for auto focusing and flash illumination for image capture. A correction factor may be determined that is based at least in part on a range between the camera and a desired subject. The camera focus may be adjusted in accordance with the correction factor prior to capturing a capture image using flash illumination.
