A razor assembly is provided that includes a handle having a cavity, a razor cartridge attached to a razor cartridge holder, and a shaving aid body. The razor cartridge holder is slidably received within the cavity of the handle. The shaving aid body is attached to the handle, and includes a contact surface and an aperture disposed in the contact surface that is sized to receive the razor cartridge. In some embodiments, one or more biasing members act between the handle and the razor cartridge holder.

A removable protective cover for use with razors and razor cartridges. The cover encloses and protects the razor head, which contains the exposed portion of the sharpened blade or blades. Lateral tabs having hooks for engagement with the razor cartridge on one end and a button area on the other end are affixed to both ends of the cover via hinges. When the button area is depressed by opposing forces, in an X-plane, the hook end disengages from the razor cartridge and the cartridge may be removed from the protective cover with minimal or no force in the Y-direction which is perpendicular to the X-plane.

A flexible, twin-blade wet-shaving razor unit employing at least one embossed blade for providing improved cutting effectiveness. The embossment increases the rigidity of the blade(s), which, in turn, decreases the amplitude of any vibration introduced into the blades.

The present invention is directed to a razor head having at least one blade with a sharpened edge disposed between a guard member and a cap member. The blade is supported in a manner such that the blade is pivotable about a point directly below, or below and forwardly of, the sharpened edge of the blade. The pivoting blade arrangement of the present invention is particularly adapted to decrease the blade exposure while increasing the guard-blade span and the shaving angle when the blade is subjected to forces during shaving. Biasing members are also provided for returning the blade edges to their original position when shaving forces are not acting on the razor head. While the razor head of the present invention is illustrated in a preferred embodiment as a two blade disposable cartridge, alternative embodiments including a single blade and a completely disposable razor are within the scope of the present invention.

A flexible, twin-blade razor unit employing a corrugated spacer for providing improved cutting effectiveness. The corrugations increase the rigidity of the blades, which, in turn, decreases the amplitude of any vibration introduced into the blades.
