A tube exchange device for holding and replacing refractory nozzle comprises a frame with a casting opening. The frame is configured to be fixed to the lower side of a metal casting vessel. The frame is has an upper portion and a lower portion joining at a middle section plane in which an inner nozzle and an exchangeable pouring nozzle form a sliding contact. The lower portion of the frame contains a displacing element and a guiding element disposed for displacing and guiding the nozzle from a standby position to a casting position, and a pressing element pressing the nozzle at the casting position towards the upper portion of the frame. In a combination of the tube exchange device and a nozzle, the nozzle comprises bearing elements mating with the clamping elements of the tube exchange device.

Casting plates constructed for facing the casting orifice of a metallurgical vessel are provided with a metallic casing. The casting plates and metallic casing are provided with a protrusion configured to interact with a detector. The casing has a main surface with an opening, and two substantially longitudinal bearing surfaces. The protrusion extends from the casing in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal bearing surfaces. The protrusion is formed by a ramp having an inclined portion.

A refractory nozzle comprises a substantially tubular portion with an axial through bore and a plate comprising a first, contact surface normal to the axial through bore and comprising the outlet opening, and a second surface opposite to the first contact surface joining the wall of the tubular portion to the side edges defining the perimeter and thickness of the plate. All but the first contact surface of the inner nozzle plate are at least partially clad with a metal casing having side edges. The inner nozzle plate metal casing comprises three separate bearing elements jutting out of the side edges. Each bearing element comprises a bearing ledge facing in the direction of the contact surface and distributed around the perimeter of the plate. The centroids of the orthogonal projections onto a plane parallel to the contact surface of the bearing ledges form the vertices of a triangle.

An inner nozzle for casting molten metal from a metallurgical vessel incorporates a substantially tubular portion with an axial through bore, and an inner nozzle plate comprising a bottom flat contact surface and a second surface opposite the bottom contact surface and joining the wall of the tubular portion to the side edges of the plate. The inner nozzle incorporates a metallic casing cladding at least a portion of some or all of the side edges and second surface but not the sliding plane of the inner nozzle plate. The cladding is provided with a metallic bearing surface, facing towards and recessed with respect to the contact surface and extending from the cladded portion of the side edges beyond the perimeter of the contact surface. The bearing surface is defined by the ledges of at least two separate bearing elements distributed around the perimeter of the plate.

A device enables the transporting and storing of at least one ladle shroud for a liquid metal casting plant, the ladle shroud having a channel through which liquid metal passes and essentially extending along an axis. The device also includes a rack designed to store the ladle shroud in a use position wherein the axis of the channel is vertical, the rack providing an access from the outside to a lateral face of the shroud when the latter is in its use position.

The object of the present invention is a clamp for clamping device for a refractory plate in a seating of a slide valve in a casting installation, the said clamp having on one hand a thrust zone whereon it can receive a clamping force tending to push the clamp against a refractory plate located in the seating and, on the other hand, two ends of which each is capable of being applied against one edge of the refractory plate. The clamp is characterised in that it is capable of being elastically deformed in that each of its two ends is conformed such that it bears against the corresponding edge of the refractory plate when a clamping force is applied to the clamp also bears against the wall of the seating under the effect of expansion of the plate or a greater clamping force. One of the advantages of the clamp, and in that the clamp is also deformed such that the clamp according to the invention is that it adapts automatically to the geometry of the plate which it is required to immobilise, so that variations in shape between plates due to their fabrication process do not cause any clamping problems.

The present invention concerns a pouring tube of refractory material comprised of a tubular element and equipped at its upper end with a plane plate, the side faces and lower face of the said plate and the upper end of the tubular part being protected by a metallic case, said plate being reinforced in its lower face by mechanical means that increase its stiffness that is characterized in that these stiffening means are comprised of a plurality of U-shaped metallic pieces located on either side of the tube and attached fixedly to the part of the metal case protecting the lower face of the plate. These tubes present a greater resistance to the formation of cracks than conventional tubes.
