A computer-implemented method includes: receiving, using a processor, multiple data session records (DSRs); storing the multiple DSRs in a memory communicatively coupled to the processor; analyzing, using the processor, the stored multiple DSRs for temporal and spatial data; and determining, using the processor, quality degradation by using the temporal and spatial data for the stored multiple DSRs.

Detecting and diagnosing call quality degradation issues using data session record data

Various embodiments estimate network load in a wireless communication network. In one embodiment, at least one call detail record associated with a wireless communication network is received. A topology representing the network is analyzed. The topology includes a plurality of nodes each representing a network element within the wireless communication network. The topology also includes a plurality of edges between two or more of the plurality of nodes. Each of the plurality of edges indicates that the two or more plurality of nodes are communicatively coupled to each other within the network. A set of paths is identified between two or more nodes in the plurality of nodes corresponding to a set of call flow information within the at least one call detail record. A state of each network element represented by the two or more nodes in the set of paths is determined based on the call detail record.

Network load estimation and prediction for cellular networks

Various embodiments monitor user mobility in a wireless communication network. In one embodiment, a set of temporally related call detail records associated with at least one user of a wireless communication network is analyzed. A set of base stations accessed during at least one call associated with the set of temporally related call detail records is identified based on the analysis of the records. At least one road segment of a road network within a threshold distance to each of the set of base stations is identified. A set of mobility information for the at least one user indicating that the at least one user traversed the at least one road segment is stored based on identifying the at least one road segment.

Correlating road network information and user mobility information for wireless communication network planning

Various embodiments manage service issues in a wireless communication network. In one embodiment, a plurality of call detail records associated with a wireless communication network is received. The plurality of call detail records is analyzed. At least one pattern from the plurality of call detail records is identified based on analyzing the plurality of call detail records. The at least one pattern indicates at least one service issue occurred during a set of calls associated with each of the plurality of call detail records. A location associated with the at least one service issue that has occurred is identified based on identifying the at least one pattern.

Detecting cellular connectivity issues in a wireless communication network

One embodiment provides a method including: utilizing at least one processor to execute computer code that performs the steps of: receiving at least one location map comprising a plurality of possible routes; identifying at least one location area configuration, wherein the location area configuration identifies a location, relative to the at least one location map, of at least one location area boundary segment; computing a utility of the at least one location area configuration, wherein the utility comprises an identification of any usefulness of identifying a route comprising at least one identified sub-route and wherein the at least one sub-route is identified using the at least one location area boundary segment; identifying at least one prominent location area boundary segment, wherein a prominent location area boundary segment comprises a location area boundary segment having a computed utility exceeding a predetermined threshold; and generating a location area map comprising a plurality of identified prominent location area boundary segments, wherein the location area map defines boundaries of a location area. Other variants and embodiments are broadly contemplated herein.

Generation of location area boundaries

Methods and arrangements for managing variable-priority flows in a network. Requests for transmission of digital content are received from client devices, each request being associated with a priority, the requests including at least one lower-priority delayable request and at least one higher-priority request. A usable bandwidth for delivery of the requested digital content through the network is estimated and, within the estimated usable bandwidth, there is controlled at least one flow associated with the at least one lower-priority request in the presence of at least one flow for the at least one higher-priority request. Other variants and embodiments are broadly contemplated herein.

Executing variable-priority jobs using multiple statistical thresholds in cellular networks

Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for event-based location sampling for map-matching are provided herein. A method includes determining a location of an object via a device associated with the object; determining one or more temporal sampling periods of one or more location information sensors at one or more sampling regions based on (i) said location of the object and (ii) one or more items of map-matching information; capturing one or more motion-related events associated with the object via the one or more location information sensors during the determined one or more temporal periods; and generating a trajectory of the object based on the one or more captured motion-related events.

Event-based location sampling for map-matching

A testing tool allowing convenient testing of programs and also classes in general. The tool automatically divides each program into many groups such that if one line (or statement) is executed it may reasonably be assumed that all the lines in the group are also executed. A tester is provided the ability to provide desired arguments (including class instances) and cause all groups to be executed such that all lines of code in the programs of a class are executed at least once. The groups are conveniently further logically combined into hierarchical blocks, with each block at a higher level corresponding to a logical structure such as if structure, for structure, while structure, etc. The blocks at the lowest level may contain a single group. Due to such hierarchy, a tester may visually easily identify the unexecuted blocks/groups. The tester may further define and execute small pieces of code (macros) in the middle of testing.
