Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for implicitly determining a receive beam for a UE to use for received signal strength indicator (RSSI) measurement. For example, the UE may perform RSSI measurement with a receive beam implicitly determined at the UE and report the RSSI to a network entity.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for receiver-assisted channel access in shared radio frequency spectrum. A receiver, such as a user equipment (UE) may transmit a measurement report to a transmitter, such as an access network entity, that indicates channel occupancy as measured at the receiver. In some cases, the receiver may identify resources for signal measurement and reporting that are configured by the transmitter, and provide an interference measurement report based on the signal measurements. The interference measurement report may indicate whether a channel is occupied, or an occupancy level of the channel. Resources may be configured for multiple beams, with the interference measurement report including interference measurements for the multiple beams. Further, the signal resources may provide resources for a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure, through signal resource sets that span multiple slots.

Techniques for interference measurement reporting for receiver-assisted channel access

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for sharing a user equipment (UE)-initiated channel occupancy time (COT) with a base station (BS) by transmitting receiver-side assistance information on an uplink shared channel of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. In some aspects, the UE may perform a clear channel assessment (CCA) prior to an uplink transmit opportunity, and if the CCA is successful, transmit the receiver-side assistance information on the uplink shared channel to share the COT with a BS. Multiple uplink transmit opportunities may be indicated to the UE send the receiver-side assistance information. In some examples, the uplink transmit opportunities may be configured grant occasions for a configured grant or scheduled by downlink control information. By transmitting to the BS, the UE may share the COT with the BS, and the BS may send downlink data to the UE during the COT.

Receiver-side assistance information using multiple uplink transmit opportunities

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing beam selection. In one aspect, an initiating wireless device may determine whether a pre-grant acknowledgement associated with a first beam has been received from a responding wireless device within an expected receive time. The initiating wireless device may generate an indication to prevent the initiating wireless device from using the first beam for a blocking duration in response to determining that the pre-grant acknowledgement associated with the first beam has not been received within the expected receive time.

Managing beam selection

Wireless communications systems and methods related to accessing a channel based on an interference condition in a wireless communication network are provided. For example, a method of wireless communication performed by a wireless communications device may include receiving, from a second wireless communication device, one or more signals associated with a beam parameter, determining, at each of a plurality of locations, a signal measurement for at least one received signal of the one or more received signals, and determining, based at least in part on a cumulative distribution of the signal measurements at the plurality of locations and a reference probability distribution, whether the second wireless communication device satisfies an interference condition. Other features are also claimed and described.

Aspects described herein relate to receiving multiple synchronization signal block (SSB) signals from a base station, wherein the multiple SSB signals are each beamformed based on a different directional beam, selecting a signature from a signature space of a first SSB of the multiple SSB signals, and transmitting, based on the signature, a random access message to the base station, wherein the random access message includes an indicator of a preferred SSB of the multiple SSB signals.

Techniques for indicating a preferred beam in wireless communication random access

A method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE) from a base station, a listen-before-talk (LBT) configuration message indicating whether category 2 (Cat2) LBT operations are enabled or disabled for the UE. The method further includes receiving, by the UE from the base station, a channel occupancy time (COT) message configuring the UE with a COT. The method further includes performing, by the UE, an LBT operation based on the LBT configuration message and based on the COT message.

Category 2 (CAT2) listen-before-transmit (LBT) operations for wireless communications

A method of wireless communication, by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, a jointly trained artificial neural network. The method also includes calculating a value representing at least one of (1) a gradient estimate for a weight of the jointly trained artificial neural network, or (2) the weight of the jointly trained artificial neural network. The method further includes expanding the value into a numerical system with base N into a plurality of digits. The method also includes determining a number and/or a location of the plurality of digits to transmit based on a deterministic task assignment rule received from the base station or a probabilistic task assignment rule. Federated learning with varying feedback

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support management of network-configured sensing bandwidths in a wireless communication system. In particular aspects, a network configures a sensing bandwidth, and the sensing bandwidth configuration is signaled to a contending node. The contending node (e.g., a UE or a base station) performs a medium sensing procedure (e.g., a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure) using the signaled configuration of the sensing bandwidth. Aspects of this disclosure provide various techniques for signaling the configuration of the sensing bandwidth to the contending node.

Network configured sensing bandwidth and channel occupancy time (COT) sharing

Aspects of the present disclosure include methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium for transmitting a capability signal to a network entity, wherein the capability signal indicates whether the UE is capable of supporting an uplink (UL) bandwidth that is equal to or less than a downlink (DL) bandwidth for communication over an unlicensed band; and exchanging a signal between the UE and the network entity over the unlicensed band according to the capability signal. Some alternative or additional aspects include methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable medium for receiving a signal from a network entity, wherein the signal indicates that short control signal exemption (SCSt) is applied to a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmission of one or more network entities over an unlicensed band; and skipping SSB presence detection of the one or more network entities in response to the signal.

Unlicensed band channel access procedures for reduced user equipment (UE) complexity

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To support communications across a wideband, a base station and user equipment (UE) may communicate across the wideband using a set of sub-bands that span the carrier bandwidth (e.g., the wideband). In some cases, the UE may transmit, to the base station, an indication of a capability of the UE to communicate a wideband communication with the base station via the set of sub-band based communications with the base station. The UE may receive, from the base station (and, in some cases based on the capability of the UE), a configuration for communicating with the base station in the carrier bandwidth using the set of sub-bands. Then, the UE may communicate with the base station in the carrier bandwidth using one or more of the set of sub-bands in accordance with the configuration.

Communicating across a wideband using sub-bands

A method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) determines a downlink/uplink (DL/UL) switching capability of the UE, and reports the DL/UL switching capability to a network. The DL/UL switching capability may indicate a quantity of DL/UL switch points, N, supported by the UE, and a time duration to which the quantity of DL/UL switch points is applied. The DL/UL switching capability may indicate a minimum link duration for which the UE should maintain a link direction after a previous DL/UL switch operation and before a next DL/UL switch operation. The DL/UL switching capability may include a DL/UL switching delay indicating a time specified for the UE to complete a DL/UL switching operation. The DL/UL switching capability may be based on a reference subcarrier spacing (SCS).

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a transmitting node may perform a directional listen-before-talk (LBT) using a sensing beam. The transmitting node may start a channel occupancy time (COT) after the directional LBT based at least in part on one of a COT claiming signal or a time stamp. The transmitting node may perform, to a receiving node, one or more transmissions during the COT using one or more transmit beams that are included in the sensing beam.
