According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method comprising, receiving, from a first data endpoint of a radio access network, a representation of a local model of the first data endpoint of the radio access network, determining multiple common models for endpoints of the radio access network, selecting, based on the representation of the local model of the first data endpoint, one of said multiple common models for the first data endpoint and transmitting the selected common model to the first data endpoint, any other data endpoint or any other external system which utilizes the selected common model.

Machine learning in radio access networks

The invention relates to a method for construction of a distributed workflow. A workflow specification comprising the invocation of a number of locatable functions is obtained. The workflow specification is divided into partitions based on the host nodes where the locatable functions are hosted. From the partitions are generated stub configuration rules for each host node, which implement the workflow execution in a given host node. The stub configuration rules are provided to the host nodes. The workflow is executed by exchanging messages between the host nodes along the lines of the original workflow. The workflow may be associated with implementation of a service or it may be for the purposes of network management.

Method and system for managing quality of service by feeding information into the packet network

A mechanism for controlling connection parameters for a communication connection between network elements is disclosed. When the communication connection is initialized, an authorization for the connection parameters of services is requested from a policy control entity which decides on connection parameters to be authorized for the communication connection and on service types which can be provided for the communication connection. A decision message is sent to a communication control network element wherein the decision message comprises the authorization for the connection parameters, service types usable for the communication connection, and an information portion indicating, for each service, whether or not the policy control entity controls a further authorization regarding at least one of the indicated service types in the communication connection. The decision message is enforced in the communication connection by the communication control network element.

Method, system and network element for authorizing a data transmission

According to the present invention, traffic control in an IP based network is provided. For this purpose, traffic situation in the network is measured, and the traffic flow is controlled on the basis of the measured traffic situation. Moreover, an operator may define rules for different measured situations, and the traffic flow is controlled on the basis of these rules.

Device and method for controlling a stream of data packets

A method and a device for timing the processing of data packets, which method comprises receiving a data packet that is part of a data burst, storing the received data packet in a memory (), taking the data packet from the memory after a play-out delay from the moment the data packet was received, calculating a value for the play-out delay with which value, of the n temporally last data packets only m pieces would have failed to be received if the initiation of the processing of the data bursts comprising the data packets in question had been delayed for the duration of said play-out delay, where n and m are natural numbers, and transferring the data packet from the memory to processing means () on the basis of a response obtained from a clock () of the reaching of said play-out delay value from the moment the data packet was received.
