A drive assembly for a motor vehicle drivetrain includes a differential configured for driving a first output shaft and a second output shaft about a center axis and for allowing the first output shaft and the second output shaft to rotate about the center axis at different speeds, and planet gears each rotatably mounted on a respective planet carrier. The planet gears each include a radially extending surface and blades circumferentially spaced part from each other. The blades axially protrude from the radially extending surface for directing a fluid flow axially toward the differential during operation of the drive assembly.

A switching device for a drivetrain of a motor vehicle includes a housing in which a first and a second driveshaft are rotatably mounted. The first and second driveshafts are arranged coaxially with one another so that they have a common rotation axis; The switching device further including switchable clutch device arranged between the first and the second driveshaft. The clutch device is transferrable into a disengaged open switched position, in which the first driveshaft is freely rotatable relative to the second driveshaft, and into an engaged switched position, in which the first driveshaft is connected to the second driveshaft via the clutch device for conjoint rotation. The control element is formed by a sliding sleeve, with an annular space being formed between each of the clutch elements, the corresponding drive shaft and the control element. The control element is arranged displaceably relative to the clutch element over a delimited axial path of movement, such that the volume of the annular space is variable.

Switching device and axle assembly

A gearbox for a motor vehicle drivetrain is provided including a gearbox housing; and a differential inside of the gearbox housing configured for driving a first output shaft and a second output shaft about a center axis and for allowing the first output shaft and the second output shaft to rotate about the center axis at different speeds. The differential includes a first side gear on a first side of the differential configured for being drivingly connected to the first output shaft; a second side gear on a second side of the differential configured for being drivingly connected to the second output shaft; a differential housing radially surrounding the first and second side gears; and a first bearing rotatably supporting the differential housing with respect to the gearbox housing. The differential housing includes axially extending holes passing therethrough from an exterior of the differential housing to an interior of the differential housing for directing fluid that is between the differential housing and the gearbox housing into the interior of the differential housing.

A drive assembly for a motor vehicle drivetrain includes a differential configured for driving a first output shaft and a second output shaft about a center axis and for allowing the first output shaft and the second output shaft to rotate about the center axis at different speeds. The differential includes a first side gear on a first side of the differential configured for being drivingly connected to the first output shaft; a second side gear on a second side of the differential configured for being drivingly connected to the second output shaft; a differential housing enclosing the first and second side gears; support pins non-rotatably fixed to the differential housing; and spider gears rotatably mounted on the support pins and positioned between the first side gear and the second side gear. Each of the spider gears intermeshes with both the first side gear and the second side gear to transmit power from the support pins to the first side gear and the second side gear. The drive assembly further includes a hollow drive shaft for driving the differential. The differential housing is configured for transmitting power from hollow drive shaft to the support pins. The hollow drive shaft is partially nested radially within the differential housing to direct oil from inside of the hollow drive shaft into the differential housing.

A drive assembly with passive cooling and/or lubrication. The drive assembly includes a housing, an electric motor having a shaft that is rotatably drivable about an axis of rotation, and a gear assembly located in the housing. The gear assembly is rotatably drivable by the shaft, and includes a plurality of gears that are rotatable in a rotational drive direction. An oil removal opening is located on an inner wall of the housing aligned with the gears, with the oil removal opening being located between −45 and +45 degrees from a horizontal plane that extends through the axis of rotation on a rotationally upward moving side of the gears in the rotational drive direction. The oil removal opening has an upper edge that is angled and faces counter to the rotational drive direction. An oil delivery channel extends from the oil removal opening to a feed port for the motor.

Shifting device

A shifting device for a drivetrain of a motor vehicle, includes a housing which a first and a second drive shaft are rotatably mounted. The first and second drive shafts are arranged coaxially to one another such that they have a common axis of rotation. The shifting device also includes a shiftable clutch device which is arranged between the first and the second drive shaft. The clutch device has an open shift position in which the first drive shaft is freely rotatable with respect to the second drive shaft, and the clutch device has a closed shift position in which the first drive shaft is connected non-rotatably by the clutch device to the second drive shaft. A control element is displaceable in the direction of the axis of rotation of the drive shafts and, depending on its displacement position, shifts the clutch device to the open or closed shift position. The control element is formed by a sliding sleeve which surrounds at least one of the two drive shafts, and a gear element is provided on an outer circumference of the sliding sleeve.
