A measuring routine for monitoring the operating state of a fuel cell arrangement consisting of at least one fuel cell, in which the fuel cell arrangement has an operating load connected to it, at least one power amplifier for supplying at least one low-frequency signal (s(t), s(t)) is further provided, the output of which is coupled to the fuel cell arrangement, and having an evaluation device, likewise coupled to the fuel cell arrangement, for capturing a signal response s(t) to the at least one supplied signal s(t), wherein the fuel cell arrangement () has two or more individual signals (s(t), s(t)) at different frequencies (f, f) supplied to it and the evaluation device is set up to capture the signal response s(t) for selected frequencies (fa, fa) of the intermodulation products (mfe+/&#x2212;nfe) of the supplied individual signals (s(t), s(t)) and to measure at least the amplitude of said signal response in order to obtain at least one output signal (S, S', S&#x2033;).

Method for monitoring the operating state of fuel cells

The present invention relates to a device for producing compressed hydrogen, comprising a pressure-resistant reactor () with a reactor chamber having a metal-containing contact mass (), wherein the reactor () comprises at least one feed line () for feeding fluids into the reactor chamber and at least one discharge line () for discharging fluids from the reactor chamber, wherein the at least one discharge line is provided with a device () for controlling or regulating the flow rate, preferably having a valve, for adjusting the pressure within the reactor chamber, wherein a conveyance means is provided on at least one feed line for introducing a water-containing medium into the reactor chamber and wherein at least one discharge line () protrudes into the reactor chamber or opens directly into the reactor chamber, through which the compressed hydrogen is discharged from the reactor chamber, wherein the reactor chamber exhibits at least two areas that are separate from each other and connected in a gas-conducting manner, of which at least one area comprises the metal-containing contacting mass () and at least one additional area comprises at least one inert material ().

Method for producing hydrogen

This method for hydrogen production from ammonia is based on the catalytic dissociation of gaseous ammonia in a cracker. A catalytic fixed bed is used. The ammonia cracker supplies a fuel cell (for example, an alkaline fuel cell AFC) with a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen. Most of the supplied hydrogen is burned in the ammonia cracker for the supply of the energy needed for the ammonia dissociation process.
