A system, apparatus, computer program product, and method perform controlled video recording of video captured by a camera. The method includes checking by recorder circuitry of receipt of a ping signal sent from a server to the recorder, the ping signal being expected to be received by the recorder circuitry within a predetermined time interval after an earlier ping signal was received (or when an initial ping signal was expected to be received), in response to a determination by the recorder circuitry of not receiving the ping signal, entering an autonomous recording mode, the autonomous recording mode including recording video provided from at least one camera, and continuing operation of the autonomous recording mode until at least one of receiving another ping signal by the recorder circuitry, or receiving a control signal from the server that directs the recorder to stop recording the video provided from the at least one camera.

System and method for robust remote video recording with potentially compromised communication connection

A method and system for composing a video of a course of actions along a track in an area monitored by a plurality of video cameras. A first sequence of user inputs defining the track is received. Each user input in the first sequence is associated with a time stamp and is received as an indication of a position in a map of the area being monitored. For each user input in the first sequence, video recordings from those that have a field-of-view covering the position indicated by the user input are collected. The collected video recordings are recorded in a time period starting at the time stamp associated with the user input and ending at a time stamp associated with a next user input in the first sequence or when an indication to stop the collecting is received. A video material is then composed from the collected video recordings.

Method and system for composing a video material

A method for streaming a live video stream in a system comprising a video camera generating the live video stream, a video recorder, and a video. The method comprises: at the video server, receiving, from a client device, a request for the live video stream from the video camera; transmitting from the video server, a push trigger to the video camera, the push trigger instructing the video camera to push the live video stream to the video recorder; upon receiving the push trigger, initiating a push of the live video stream from the video camera to the video recorder; pushing the live video stream from the video camera to the video recorder; pulling, by the video server, the live video stream from the video recorder; and transmitting, by the video server, the live video stream to the client device.

A video processing device which generates motion metadata for encoded video comprises a decoder configured to decode frames of an encoded video into image frames; and a processing circuitry configured to execute a motion meta data deriving operation on image frames decoded by the decoder. The motion meta data deriving operation comprises: a dividing function configured to divide a current image frame into a mesh of cells, wherein each cell comprises multiple image pixels, a comparison function configured to determine a metric of change for each cell by comparing pixel data of each cell with pixel data of a correspondingly positioned cell of a previous and/or subsequent image frame, and a storing function configured to store the metric of change for each cell as the motion metadata related to the current image frame.

A method includes receiving a first set of sensor data including data representing an object or an event in a monitored environment, receiving a second set of sensor data representing a corresponding time period as a time period represented by the first set of sensor data, inputting to a tutor classifier data representing the first set of data and including data representing the object or the event, generating a classification of the object or event in the tutor classifier, receiving the second set of sensor data at an apprentice classifier training process, receiving the classification generated in the tutor classifier at the apprentice classifier training process, and training the apprentice classifier in the apprentice classifier training process using the second set of sensor data as input and using the classification received from the tutor classifier as a ground-truth for the classification of the second set of sensor data.
