Provided herein are processes for the preparation of treated seeds. Generally, the processes described herein comprise contacting a seed with a liquid seed treatment composition, thereby producing a wetted seed. The processes further comprise contacting the wetted seed with a dry powder comprising an effect pigment, thereby producing a treated seed having a coating comprising the effect pigment. In some instances, the treated seeds may exhibit an attractive visual appearance and good flowability through manufacturing, distribution, and planting equipment.

Processes for the preparation of treated seeds

The present invention is directed to devices for detection estrus-state and/or non-pregnancy in mammals and methods for using the same. The device and/or methods may be of particular use in cattle. The devices disclosed include at least a housing of a size, shape, and outer surface quality permitting it to be securely maintained within a mammals vagina. The housing has at least one interior space for installation of instrument(s) for measuring, intra-vaginally, at least on indicia of estrus (heat) or non-pregnancy, converting the resulting measurement into a signal or signals (electronic or otherwise). The device also comprises a signal transmitting means and, optionally, a remote receiving station capable of interpreting the signal(s).

Apparatus and method for detection of estrus and/or non-pregnancy

Tail-mounted devices and methods for securing an object in an animal's, preferably a cow's, vagina, the device typically comprising a first and second tail anchor or ring, and a tether attached to the first tail anchor. The invention is most suited for and capable of attachment to a housing or object that is inserted into the cow's vagina. The purpose of the disclosed devices and methods is to hold an object resident in the vagina for an extended periods of time, including periods of 14 days or longer.

Intravaginal retention device for a tailed animal

The present invention provides for an apparatus and a method for monitoring, in vivo, the ruminal pH of an animal. The apparatus has an external aspect at the outside of the animal, an indwelling ruminal aspect; and an intermediate aspect between the external and indwelling aspects. The indwelling aspect further has a pH sensor; and the external aspect further having a housing and a means for storing data from the pH sensor in said housing. The apparatus may further comprise a means for transmitting signals corresponding to the pH data collected and a means for receiving said signals. The method of monitoring, in vivo, the pH of the rumen of an animal includes installing any of the embodiments of the apparatus to the animal and taking a plurality of measurements of the pH from the apparatus, and transmitting signals corresponding to said measurements to a receiving device.
