The endorsement profile comprises data relating to which segments of the media content item have product-related content. A manifest file comprising instructions re-questing playback of the media content item is generated based on the endorsement profile for the media content item.

This may be accomplished by a device monitoring consumption of a content series to determine a pattern of consumption. The system may help the content move faster, while ensuring the transition scenes are not skipped. The system may receive content with three sequential scenes A, B, and C, and determine scene B is a transition scene between scene A and scene C. Scene B may be generated as an overlay to one of (or parts of both) scene A and scene C so that all three scenes are viewed but the runtime is shorter, and the content's pace is maintained. The system may also determine which scene to overlay, and determine a screen position for the overlay so as not to, e.g., obscure any characters or activity in the content.

As a result, the media guidance application may cause the smart television to output the video clip.

A playback speed of the video segment of a media asset is calculated based on the duration of the video segment and a received playback time period. The system receives audio segments and corresponding priority weights. The audio segments with the lowest priority weight are removed from the group of various audio segments. The system then determines whether the duration of the remaining audio segments exceeds the received playback time period. If so, the system modifies the remaining audio segments by removing another audio segment with the lowest priority weight from the remaining audio segments. The system then rechecks whether the received playback time period is exceeded. If not, the system generates for playback the video segment based on the video playback speed and the remaining audio segments.

Systems and methods for selective audio segment compression for accelerated playback of media assets by service providers

Systems and methods are described herein for identifying camera angles, based on network parameters, for content available at multiple camera angles. The system determines a network parameter of a network used to provide content that is recorded or rendered at various camera angles. The determined network parameters are used to identify camera angles that are supported by the network. For example, the video data associated with a camera angle having a prerequisite bit rate of 5 Megabits per second is supported by a network having a bandwidth parameter of 40 Mbps, while another camera angle having a prerequisite bit rate of 45 Megabits per second is not supported by the bandwidth parameter of 40 Mbps. The system provides the video data for identified camera angles supported by the network to a device for display.

Static content, such as text, an audio clip, an image, or a video clip, may be forwarded to users in a communication, e.g., a message, e-mail, social media post, social chat message, or made available in a blog post, or webpage. It is determined whether time-sensitive information included in that content will be updated automatically. If so, then updated information is obtained, and used to modify the time-sensitive information, e.g., by replacing and/or supplementing the time-sensitive information. The unmodified content may, optionally, be forwarded to the other users together with the modified content. Feedback from the other users may be used to inform future content modifications.

Systems and methods for selectively providing audio alerts via a speaker device are disclosed herein. A system plays first audio content through a speaker. A microphone captures second audio content comprising an alert. Output of the second audio content through the speaker is suppressed by using noise cancellation. The system determines, based on the priority level, that the alert should be reproduced, and audibly reproduces the alert via the speaker, with the first audio content or instead of the first audio content.
