The techniques and circuits, described herein, include solutions for latch-up prevention in multi-phase direct current (DC) to DC converters by ensuring safe pulse width modulation (PWM) control sequencing. In some aspects a latch-up pre-detection circuit has first and second detection inputs configured to receive high-side and low-side PWM signals respectively. The latch-up pre-detection circuit is configured to monitor for a transition from a first state to a second state based on the first and second detection inputs. The transition from the first state to the second state may be associated with condition(s) favorable for latch-up. Upon detecting the transition from the first state to the second state, the latch-up pre-detection circuit can output a pulse signal to temporarily override the unsafe PWM control sequence and reduce the possibility of latch-up.

A system includes a sensor integrated circuit (IC), including a driver adapted to be coupled to an oscillator, the driver including first and second transistors. The sensor IC includes an amplitude control amplifier coupled to the first transistor. The sensor IC also includes a common mode control amplifier coupled to the second transistor. The sensor IC includes a handover control circuit coupled to the amplitude control amplifier and configured to hand off an operation from the sensor IC to a different sensor IC, the handover control circuit including a resistor network coupled to a switch network.

Anti-lock and intelligent braking systems have become ubiquitous in modern vehicles, which employ wheel speed sensors or WSSs. These WSSs generally uses current-domain signals (transmitted through power wires) to reduce the size of the vehicle's wiring harness, but because a vehicle is an inherently noisy environment, mixed signal circuit or MSC (used to decode these signals for a microcontroller) should be able to filter out or compensate for noise. However, traditional MSCs have been plagued with problems, partly due to errors in time base measurement due to noise (as well as other factors). Here, an MSC is provided that accurately calculates a wheel speed pulse width (which is used for time base measurements) by observing the wheel speed pulse as it passes through several thresholds.
