Various methods and systems are provided for reducing cylinder-to-cylinder variation in exhaust gas recirculation. In one embodiment, a system comprises a first cylinder group of an engine having a first number of cylinders, a second cylinder group of the engine having a second number of cylinders that is not an integer multiple of the first number of cylinders, and an exhaust system coupled to the first cylinder group and the second cylinder group. In at least one mode of operation, the exhaust system has exhaust ports of the first cylinder group fluidly coupled to an intake of the engine and exhaust ports of the second cylinder group fluidly decoupled from the intake.

Method and systems for exhaust gas recirculation

Various methods and systems are provided for an exhaust gas recirculation system. In one example, an exhaust gas recirculation cooler includes an exhaust gas inlet and an exhaust gas outlet spaced from the exhaust gas inlet; a plurality of cooling tubes disposed between the exhaust gas inlet and exhaust gas outlet; and a baffle positioned proximate to the exhaust gas inlet and interposed between the plurality of cooling tubes and the exhaust gas inlet, where the baffle directs exhaust gas entering the EGR cooler through the exhaust gas inlet to the plurality of cooling tubes in a defined path.

Exhaust gas recirculation system and method

An exhaust casing for use with a turbocharger includes a hollow body that has two mutually opposed large walls, which extend along first and second major dimensions of the hollow body and are spaced apart by a minor dimension of the hollow body, the hollow body defining a plenum and an inlet nozzle opening into the plenum along the minor dimension of the hollow body. The casing further includes an outlet nozzle opening from the plenum along one of the major dimensions of the hollow body.

A charge air cooling chamber has a lower wall with an orifice in the lower wall. A condensate pipe is fluidly connected to drain exhaust fume condensate from the orifice into a collection tank. A vent pipe is fluidly connected to vent fumes from an upper opening of the collection tank to an exhaust stack. A loop seal is fluidly connected to drain condensate from a lower opening of the collection tank. Exhaust gas moisture condensate drains from the cooling chamber into the collection tank, via the continuously open orifice. Exhaust gas moisture condensate fumes vent from the collection tank to the exhaust stack.

A charge air cooler cover includes a nozzle configured for connection to an outlet of a compressor for receiving charge air, a tray configured for connection to an inlet of a charge air cooler, and a plenum leading from the nozzle to a plurality of passages defined by a plurality of ribs. The plurality of passages connects the plenum to the tray. The ribs and the tray are arranged to achieve substantially uniform charge air velocity across the inlet of the charge air cooler, in at least one mode of operation.

Various methods and systems are provided for cooling an engine system. In one example, a system includes an exhaust gas recirculation cooler and an engine. The system further includes a cooling fluid circuit in which the exhaust gas recirculation cooler and the engine are positionable in series with the exhaust gas recirculation cooler disposed upstream of the engine.

A frustoconical outlet nozzle connected at one end of the duct body and extending at about eighty-five degrees from the longitudinal axis. The duct further includes an inlet bell connected at the other end of the duct body and extending at about fifty degrees from the longitudinal axis.
