Treatment fluids comprising an aqueous base fluid and a gelling agent of selected from the group consisting of hydroxypropyl starch phosphate, a hydroxypropyl starch phosphate derivative, and any combination thereof. The treatment fluids may be used to perform subterranean formation operations, such as fracturing operations and proppant particulate placement operations. The treatment fluids are self-breakable and provide viscosity for proppant particulate suspension without the use of breakers or crosslinkers.

Self-breakable treatment fluids for use in subterranean formation operations

Method comprising introducing a treatment fluid into a subterranean formation, the treatment fluid comprising a pseudo-crosslinking agent and an acidic viscoelastic surfactant (AVS) base fluid, wherein the treatment fluid has a pH of less than 5. The AVS base fluid includes a zwitterionic viscoelastic surfactant, an acidic constituent, and a polar solvent and the zwitterionic viscoelastic surfactant is present in an amount in the range of from about 0.001% to about 15% by weight of active surfactant of the AVS base fluid. The treatment fluid performs a subterranean formation operation.

Treatment fluids for stimulation of subterranean formations

A self-triggering, in-situ crosslinking fluid system is provided for controlling lost circulation for drilling in a carbonate formation. Methods of drilling a well include the steps of: (A) forming a drilling fluid comprising an aqueous phase, wherein the aqueous phase comprises: (i) water; (ii) acid, wherein the acid is at least sufficiently strong and in at least a sufficient concentration such that the aqueous phase has an initial pH of less than about 2; (iii) a viscosity-increasing agent; and (iv) a crosslinker, wherein the crosslinker is selected or controlled to crosslink the viscosity-increasing agent at a pH range anywhere in a range of about 1.5 to about 6.5 and that is at least higher than the initial pH of the aqueous phase; and (B) drilling with the drilling fluid to form a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation.

Self-triggering lost circulation control in carbonate formation

COscavenging additives having one or more cyanamide functionalities for the reduction of corrosion in subterranean formations are disclosed. The additives are also suitable for the simultaneous scavenging of COand HS. The additives can be introduced by way of a treatment fluid for the subterranean formation to interact with and reduce the concentration of COand/or HS in the formation.

A system for selecting diversion techniques includes a memory storage device and a processor. The processor is configured to, for each of several well characteristics, assign a weight to each of the several well characteristics, where the weight is indicative of the importance of the well characteristic to the selection of a diversion technique, and where not all of the weights are the same. The processor is further configured to calculate a desirability of each of several diversion techniques based upon, at least partially, the weights and the several well characteristics, and select a diversion technique based upon, at least partially, the calculated desirability of the several diversion techniques.

Selection of diversion techniques based upon weighted well characteristics

A method of treating a treatment zone in a well is provided, the method including the steps of: (A) forming a treatment fluid comprising: (i) a degradable polymer particulate; (ii) a legume particulate; and (iii) a continuous liquid phase; and (B) introducing the treatment fluid into the treatment zone of the well. The invention can be used, for example, for leak-off control or fluid diversion purposes.
