Example techniques of network infrastructure management are described. In an example, a network statistics request is received by a network device from a computing device. The network statistics request indicates at least one of a node and a data path, in a layer of a network stack in a network infrastructure, for which a network statistics attribute is to be determined. The network statistics attribute is representative of information associated with one of data packets transceived by the node and data packets transferred over the data path. The network statistics attribute is determined based on the value of a counter associated with the network statistics attribute of one of the node and the data path. The determined network statistics attribute is provided to the computing device.

Network infrastructure management

Example techniques of network infrastructure management are described. In an example, a network statistics request may be received by a network device. The network statistics request indicates a network resource and a network statistics attribute to be determined for the network resource. The network resource is one of a node and a data path in the network infrastructure. The network statistics attribute is indicative of information on flow of data packets at the network resource. A graph is generated based on the network statistics request. The graph depicts vertices corresponding to nodes in a network segment associated with the network resource and edges corresponding to communication links between pairs of adjacent nodes in the network segment. Based on the graph and a network statistics attribute for a pair of adjacent nodes, the network statistics attribute for the network resource, may be determined.

An example system in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure includes a logical switch and a controller to dynamically instantiate the logical switch including a control plane isolated from other logical switches of the network switch system. A system and method for flexible device driver resource allocation is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for allocating device driver resources in a data processing system includes statically allocating hardware resource pools to device drivers on a rigid basis during initialization of the data processing system, and dynamically altering the allocated hardware resource pools to the device drivers based on parameters associated with utilization of the allocated hardware resource pools during run-time.

System and method for flexible device driver resource allocation

A method and system for optimizing network I/O throughput is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for optimizing an input/output (I/O) throughput for a storage network comprises measuring a service time for a storage device of the storage network in completing an I/O request serviced by a storage driver. The method also comprises determining a status of an I/O performance between the storage driver and the storage device by comparing the service time with an expected service time for the storage device in completing the I/O request, where the expected service time is calculated based on a type of the storage device and a size of the I/O request. The method further comprises adjusting a maximum queue depth associated with the storage device based on the status of the I/O performance.
