A user equipment (UE) may receive a list of Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) that support a given network slice in a given country, different from a home country of a home PLMN of the UE. When roaming in the given country, UE may access a PLMN of the list if the given network slice is desired. The list may be provided by the home PLMN: while the UE is in the home country; or via a visited PLMN while the UE is in the given country. The list may be received in response to a UE-initiated request, or pushed to the UE by the home PLMN. A validity timer period received with the list may indicate a duration of validity of the list. In an alternative scenario, the UE may receive the list from an entitlement server, e.g., one belonging to a visited PLMN.

Selection of slice-supporting PLMNs while roaming away from home network

Apparatus and methods are provided for a user equipment (UE) to communicate with a new radio (NR) wireless network in a standalone deployment. The UE camps on a first cell and determines that a first bandwidth (BW) of the first cell is greater than or equal to a threshold BW value. In response, when the UE is not configured for bandwidth part switching (BWPS), the UE determines whether a second cell is available that is intraband with and has a same priority as the first cell and that has a second BW that is less than the threshold BW value. When the second cell is not available, the UE searches for a next lower priority cell that has a third BW that is less than the threshold BW value.

Apparatus and methods to mitigate no bandwidth part switching in 5G standalone deployments

A device executing a low-latency application that uses a Wi-Fi link may switch from the Wi-Fi link to using a second link to a multi-subscriber (MSIM) PHS device. The device may access, via the second link, any one of multiple cellular links, each cellular link corresponding to a different respective cellular subscription of multiple subscriptions used by the PHS device. The application executing on the device may thus use a preferred cellular link from among the multiple cellular links. The preferred cellular link may be determined based on parameters corresponding to the plurality of cellular links for each respective cellular subscription. The parameters may be obtained from a location database. The preferred cellular link (which may presently correspond to a primary subscription) on the PHS device may be switched to be a different cellular link (which may correspond to a non-primary subscription) during execution of the application on the device.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for performing efficient discovery of edge computing servers. A wireless device may provide an edge compute request to an edge discovery service, which may indicate one or more criteria for the edge compute request. The edge discovery service may select one or more edge application servers for the edge compute request based on edge compute resource availability profile information that it stores for multiple edge application servers and the one or more criteria for the edge compute request. The edge discovery service may provide a response to the edge compute request to the wireless device, which may include an indication of the selected edge application server or servers.

This disclosure relates to techniques for supporting multiple Quality of Service flows for a service data flow in a wireless communication system. The service data flow may include multiple categories of data with different Quality of Service parameters. Separate Quality of Service flows may be established for each of the categories of data with different Quality of Service parameters. A configuration message is received from the base station, where the configuration indicates a plurality of measurement objects including both Long Term Evolution (LTE) and New Radio (NR) measurement objects. A Public Land Mobile Network includes a network slice quota (NSQ) node to implement a quota on the number of user equipments (UEs) or (UE, PDU_Session) pairs that may be registered on a network slice. An access and mobility management function (AMF) queries the NSQ on whether quota is available for registration of a UE on a network slice in response to a notification of successful authorization and/or authentication (AAA) of the UE. Alternatively, the AMF may preemptively capture one or more units of network slice quota for the UE prior to initiation of the AAA procedure. The AMF may start a timer after UE deregistration is initiated, and not relinquish the quota unit held by the UE until after the timer's expiration. The network may also include a session management function (SMF) that provides UE identification as well as PDU Session ID when requesting registration of a UE.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for SoR list management and PLMN selection based on an SoR list. A UE may receive an SoR container which may include a list of OPLMNs. The UE may store a prior list of OPLMNs stored on a USIM of the UE on a memory of the UE. The UE replace the prior list of OPLMNs stored on the USIM with the list of OPLMNs included in the SoR container. The UE may consider the prior list of OPLMNs as a lower priority list as compared to the list of OPLMNs stored on the USIM. Additionally, in response to determining to move from a current PLMN, the UE may scan for a new PLMN based on the list of OPLMNs stored on the USIM.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for UL traffic throughput enhancements in NSA deployments. A UE may determine that an UL data requirement is substantially greater than a DL data requirement. The UE may perform an UL enhancement procedure based on UL enhancement conditions. The UL enhancement conditions may include determining that a master cell group does or does not operate according to LTE, determining that UL data traffic is only carried via LTE bands or that UL data traffic is split between LTE bands and NR bands, determining that UL carrier aggregation is or is not available, and/or determining that blind secondary cell group addition is supported or is not support by a network. The UE may be configured to perform the at least one UL enhancement procedure thereby enhancing uplink throughput.

As part of the discovery process, the device (e.g., the UE) may request edge server site capability information. When performing dynamic offloading, the UE may obtain (collect and/or receive) information regarding channel conditions, cellular network parameters or application requirements and dynamically determine whether a task of the application executing on the UE should be offloaded to an edge server or executed locally on the UE. In making decisions between offloaded or local execution, the UE may use a utility function that takes into account factors such as relative differences in application latency, energy consumption and offloading cost.

A client device in a wireless network accesses a queue comprising Transmission Control Protocol Acknowledgement (TCP ACK) packets. At least some packets include packet descriptors with a flow identifier indicating a corresponding TCP flow, and a TCP ACK Generation Count. The device inspects a packet descriptor of a first TCP ACK packet, and identifies a first flow identifier and a first TCP ACK Generation Count. The device accesses entries in a data structure that each includes a first field and a second field respectively storing a flow identifier and a TCP ACK Generation Count. The device determines that a condition is satisfied, comprising that an entry in the data structure includes a flow identifier and a TCP ACK Generation Count matching the first flow identifier and the first TCP ACK Generation Count, respectively. In response to the determination, the device marks the first TCP ACK packet to be dropped.
