Provided compositions, films, and methods impart a low-surface energy surface to a polyurethane layer whereby contaminants to bead up on the surface to dramatically facilitate removal. At the same time, the provided articles retain excellent clarity and processibility for use in surface protection applications. Compositions having these advantageous properties derive from reacting a primary polyisocyanate; a monohydroxyl polydimethylsiloxane present in a suitable amount; and a polyol selected from the group consisting of: a caprolactone polyol, polycarbonate polyol, a polyester polyol, acrylic polyol, polyether polyol, polyolefin polyol, and mixtures thereof.

Polyurethane compositions, films, and methods thereof

Adhesive compositions that are optically transparent include a (meth)acrylate-based copolymer having a refractive index of at least 1.48, and particles of a thermoplastic polymer. At least some of the particles have an average particle size that is larger than the wavelength of visible light. The adhesive compositions are prepared by hot melt processing packaged adhesive compositions.

Disclosed herein are improved thermoplastic polyurethane compositions, articles, and related methods. These compositions include aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethanes having a hard segment content ranging from 57 percent to 80 percent by weight. The hard coat compositions have a Shore D hardness of at least 70 and can display an Elongation at Break test result at 25 degrees Celsius of at least 150 percent. These materials, when hardened, can serve decorative and/or protective functions while displaying both a high degree of elongation at moderate temperatures and high hardness.

There is provided a transparent paint protection film comprising an acrylic adhesive layer, wherein the acrylic adhesive layer comprises a first cross-linking agent comprising a metal ion and a second cross-linking agent; and a base layer disposed therebetween, wherein the base layer is selected from at least one of polyurethane, polyvinylchloride, polyolefins, and combinations thereof, wherein the transparent paint protection film has a Young's modulus of less than or equal to 200 MPa; and optionally a clear coat disposed along a major surface of the base layer that is opposite the surface that is adhered to the adhesive layer.

The composition is useful in the production of covered wire.

The method comprises arranging two or more coated wires and at least partially bonding the wires, wherein one or more of the coated wires comprises a conductor and a covering comprising a thermoplastic composition. The thermoplastic composition comprises a poly(arylene ether), a polyolefin and a polymeric compatibilizer, and may further comprise a flame retardant.

An electrical wire having a conductor and a covering disposed over the conductor wherein the covering is made from a thermoplastic composition. The thermoplastic composition has a poly(arylene ether); a polyolefin, a block copolymer; and flame retardant.
