A method for sharing data based on user ranking is described. In one embodiment, the method includes determining a location of a computing device, identifying a request to share data from the computing device with one or more other computing devices, and ranking potential recipients of the data from the computing device based on at least one of location data, network communication data, and contact information.

A computer-implemented method for managing emergency information may include intercepting, on a mobile-computing device, an emergency communication being transmitted from the mobile-computing device. Intercepting the emergency communication may include monitoring outgoing communications on the mobile-computing device and determining that an outgoing communication being monitored is a communication about an emergency. This method may also include sending, from the mobile-computing device to a remote server that collects emergency data from a plurality of mobile-computing devices, information about the emergency communication and location information that identifies a location of the emergency. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Systems and methods for managing emergency information

A computer-implemented method of community detection of a missing device is described. The method includes receiving a missing device report having identifying information of a missing device, sending a search command to an agent including the missing device report, and receiving a search report from the agent comprising whether or not the identifying information of the missing device is detected in a network to which the agent is connected. Also a method of community detection of a missing device through receiving a search command having identifying information of a missing device is described. The method includes monitoring network activity of a network for the identifying information of the missing device connected to the network, and sending a search report comprising whether or not the identifying information of the missing device is detected in the network.

Community-based detection of a missing device

The performance of a boot sequence is improved by presenting the user with easy to read information concerning the performance cost of each boot time application, and allowing the user to remove processes from the boot sequence or uninstall them altogether. Processes associated with the boot sequence are identified, and their corresponding performance cost is determined as percentage of the performance cost of the entire boot sequence, or according to the time they take to execute. The identified processes and their associated performance costs are presented to the user, along with a user interface component for selecting processes to remove from the boot sequence and/or uninstall. Responsive to input from the user, selected processes are removed from the boot sequence and/or uninstalled as directed.
