A cooling system in a fuel cell electric vehicle comprising a first chamber configured to contain relatively hot fluid and a second chamber configured to contain relatively cold fluid. The ratio of cooling power/fan power of a positive displacement device at a heat exchanger is monitored and thermal energy transfer between coolant and the chambers is controlled based on the ratio. When the ratio is above a pre-defined value or value range, thermal energy from the first chamber is provided to the coolant in the coolant circuit and passed into the heat exchanger, after which part of the thermal energy of cooled coolant leaving the heat exchanger is provided to and stored in the second chamber. The stored cold thermal energy is released from the second chamber when the ratio is below the pre-defined value or value range. The invention also relates to a method of controlling a cooling system.

The present invention relates to a braking arrangement for a vehicle, the braking arrangement comprising an electric machine electrically connectable to an electric power source, a brake compressor positioned in an air flow conduit, the brake compressor being configured to pressurize a flow of air and to exhaust the pressurized flow of air, and a compressor shaft mechanically connecting the electric machine and the brake compressor to each other, wherein the electric machine is configured to generate a torque on the compressor shaft for operating the brake compressor to pressurize the flow of air, the braking arrangement further comprising an air bearing arrangement, the air bearing arrangement being fluidly connectable to a pressurized brake air tank of the vehicle via an air bearing conduit, wherein the air bearing arrangement is suspending the compressor shaft to at least one of the electric machine and the brake compressor.

A cooling system for a vehicle propelled by an electric machine. The cooling system is arranged, when the vehicle is operated in a braking mode, to control a first and a second radiator valve to direct a flow of fluid from a radiator through a first fluid circuit and prevent the flow of fluid from the radiator to enter the second fluid circuit, control a compressor arrangement to flow a refrigerant in a direction from a heat exchanger to a condenser of a third fluid conduit, and control a second circuit valve arrangement to direct a heat source fluid to circulate through a heat exchanger and an electric heat source.

The present invention relates to a braking system for a vehicle at least partially propelled by an electric traction motor, the braking system comprising an electric machine electrically connected to an electric source; an air flow producing unit mechanically connected to, and operated by, the electric machine; and an electrical brake resistor arrangement positioned in fluid communication between the air flow producing unit and an ambient environment, the electrical brake resistor arrangement being electrically connected to the electric source and arranged to heat air supplied from the air flow producing unit by electrical power received from the electric source, and to supply heated air to the ambient environment.
