A rigid chain actuator () including a tool body () having a bore () with a chain () at least partially disposed in a housing () coupled to the tool body. Additionally, the rigid chain actuator includes a chain extension/retraction mechanism to extend the chain from the housing into the bore and recoil the chain from the bore into the housing. Furthermore, the chain may translate a force onto at least one wellbore tool through the bore.

Plug retrieval and installation mechanism

A system is provided to perform various wellbore operations, including retrieval and replacement of solid internal tree caps, for example. The system may include an open water lubricator having a piston assembly disposed therein. The system may also include a well control package connected to a distal end of the open water lubricator. The piston assembly is configured to extend through the well control package. Method using systems disclosed herein may be performed while maintaining at least two testable pressure barriers during each of the retrieving and replacement steps.

The invention relates to a control system for a subsea installation based on CAN bus technology. A single cable forms a backbone for transmitting signals and/or power from a central control unit to a number of devices or sensors on the installation. Terminals are attached to the cable at intervals, allowing devices to be plugged in while the system is operable. A termination may also include repeaters or amplifiers for transmitting signals over longer distances.

The invention is a well radar for detecting, by electromagnetic wave reflection, resistivity horizons in production zones in oil wells. Transmitter and receiver antennas are combined in a tubing string antenna module. Two dipole transmitter antenna are positioned in a first position on either side of the tubing string antenna module. A first directionally sensitive group of four dipole receiver antennas is positioned in a second positioned so that the receiver antennas have even angular separation.
