A hardware encryption module with reconfigurable security algorithms for randomly selecting block ciphers, stream ciphers, and their components, for internet of things (IoT) and data security applications. A corresponding system contains a hardware number generator for generating unique secrets in digital and wireless communication protocols. The system contains a cryptographically secure pseudorandom number generator for creating deterministic random sequences for the reconfigurable logic module. The system contains a multiplexing scheme to send keys and cipher texts in accordance with a wireless communication protocol. The hardware encryption module can be used to reconfigure block cipher algorithms, modes of operation, key scheduling algorithms, confusion functions, and/or round orders, based on reconfigurable logic. One type of reconfigurable logic allows stream cipher algorithms and key mixing keys to be changed at random.

Reconfigurable security hardware and methods for internet of things (IOT) systems

Space-time coded massive (STCM) and space-frequency coded (SFC) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems and methods of making and using the same are disclosed. The STCM-MIMO system utilizes two massive MIMO antenna arrays that transmit data over two or more channel vectors to a user with at least one receive antenna. This configuration permits the system to use the asymptotic orthogonal qualities of massive MIMO pre-coding to eliminate the interference from other users' channel vectors and signals. The system also maintains the diversity of space-time codes to recover lost data through treating each transmitting massive MIMO array similarly to a 2&#xd7;1 Alamouti space-time code. The STCM-MIMO wireless system can significantly outperform those using space-time coding techniques only. The SFC massive MIMO wireless system may be similar to the STCM-MIMO wireless system, except for the encoder block. In the exemplary SFC massive MIMO architecture, instead of spreading the code across the time slots, the code is spread across the subcarriers.

Space-time coded massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless systems and methods of making using the same

A wireless system, and particularly, a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication system is disclosed. The wireless system includes a plurality of (re)configurable antennas and a rate-two space coding design for a MIMO system. The MIMO wireless communication system generally includes M (re)configurable antennas configured to independently transmit or broadcast wireless electromagnetic signals having a frequency in the microwave and/or optical ranges, a controller configured to control the (re)configurable antennas, and an encoder configured to encode information onto the wireless electromagnetic signals. The information comprises codewords having N symbols, and the codewords are expressed in an N&#xd7;M matrix having a non-zero determinant and in which at least one symbol is associated with a coefficient configured to maximize diversity, maximize coding gain and/or reduce channel fading in the MIMO wireless communication system. M and N are each independently an integer of at least 2.
