An example apparatus includes a processor and a logical data structure to configure a device according to an electronic prescription defining an action for a patient, the electronic prescription organized as record(s) in a distributed ledger and processible by the device to apply the action to the patient. The electronic prescription is to cause the device to at least: configure the device to apply the action to the patient; validate the action for the patient using the distributed ledger; and propagate a record of the action to the distributed ledger.

An electrical system for controlling a wind turbine is provided. The electrical system includes a first resistive element, a storage element and a controller. The first resistive element and the storage element are coupled to a DC link of the wind turbine. The controller is used for switching between the first resistive element and the storage element in response to a grid side fault condition to minimize mechanical loads induced by the grid side fault condition.

A yaw backup system is provided. The yaw backup system includes an energy storage medium for storing auxiliary power. The yaw backup system also includes a yaw controller for coordinating delivery of power from the energy storage medium to a yaw motor for controlling a yaw angle of a wind turbine during grid loss conditions. The yaw controller executes the steps of receiving wind direction signals over time from a sensor, altering a tolerance level of a wind turbine based on changes in the wind direction signals over time and controlling delivery of power to the yaw motor from the auxiliary power of the energy storage medium based on the tolerance level to control the yaw angle for reducing a load on the wind turbine induced by wind.

System and method for providing yaw backup to a wind farm

A system for wind power dispatch that includes a wind farm controller for controlling operation of wind turbines in a wind farm and regulating real time power output of the wind farm. The system also includes a wind power dispatch management system for computing a difference between a predefined power output and the real time power output and dispatching a transient wind farm reserve to reduce the difference or, if the transient wind farm reserve is insufficient to reduce the difference, additionally or alternatively dispatching a storage reserve to reduce the difference.

System and method for wind power dispatch in a wind farm

In a field winding for a rotor (12) in an electrical power generator, a slip plane (36) between the top winding (28) of the rotor and the stack of windings below the top winding to reduce the thermal strain energy in the rotor. The slip plane allows the winding stack to slide underneath the top winding to relieve thermal stress in the stack. Because the top winding is isolated by the slip plane, thermal stresses created in the top winding are confined to the top winding. Similarly, the corners (44) of the end turns (18) for the top winding are wider than the end turn corners of the underlying winding stack. These wide top end turns abut the corner end blocks (46) for the field winding. The winding stack underneath the top turn is free to expand from thermal excitation, because the end turns of the stack are not confined by corner end blocks.

The dynamoelectric machine has endwindings including a plurality of superposed conductor bars 22 and adjacent end turns 20. Rabbets 32 are formed along the undersides of the adjoining conductor bars and end turns to receive portions 34 of gussets 30, remaining portions 35 of the gussets projecting to one side of the joint. The conductor bars and end turns have grooves 38, 36 forming cooling passages with ports 42, 40 opening to one side of the joint short of the joint. The gusset 30 has a barrier 44 spaced from the joint and forms with the ports a cooling channel 46 between the ports for transporting cooling gas between the cooling gas channels of the conductor bars and end turns.
