Among other things, a spa includes a spa shell and a water feature disposed on the spa shell. The water feature includes a ridge disposed in an interior area of the spa shell and having a top disposed near a water line of the spa shell. The water feature also includes a water inlet disposed adjacent to the ridge opposite a main body of water area in the interior area of the spa shell, the water inlet being placed lower than the top of the ridge. In addition; the water feature includes a slope descending from the top of the ridge in the direction of the water inlet, the slope having a patterned top surface configured to interact with water flowing over the ridge, down the slope and toward the water inlet.

Among other things, a spa includes a spa shell and a water feature disposed on the spa shell. The water feature includes a ridge disposed in an interior area of the spa shell and having a top disposed near a water line of the spa shell. The water feature also includes a water inlet disposed adjacent to the ridge opposite a main body of water area in the interior area of the spa shell, the water inlet being placed lower than the top of the ridge. In addition, the water feature includes a slope descending from the top of the ridge in the direction of the water inlet, the slope having a patterned top surface configured to interact with water flowing over the ridge, down the slope and toward the water inlet.

A jet face for a jet has a plurality of detents configured to aid gripping the face for rotational operation. The jet face can also include a mounting coupling to accept a removable element. The removable element can be configured as a ring-shaped element, and the coupling a groove sized to accept the element.

Jet for water containment vessels

A light fixture for a water containment vessel or other application has a fixture configured to receive a light assembly at one end and a decorative top at the other end. The fixture can be configured to be inserted into a water containment vessel wall and to accept interchangeable decorative top pieces, thereby allowing alteration or customization of the lighting provided.

Systems and techniques to mount equipment in a watertight fashion to a wall. A watertight mount includes a mounting base including a flange and a socket having an interior surface including mating threads. The mount may include a base plate coupled with the mounting base, the base plate defining an opening through which the socket passes. The mount may also include a gasket coupled between the base plate and the mounting base, the gasket defining an opening through which the socket passes, and the base plate may be releasably coupled with the mounting base through a spa wall. The base plate may be coupled with the mounting base using a connector, such as a nut defining a threaded hole that matches securing threads on an exterior surface of a barrel shaped socket in the mounting base.

Systems and techniques to provide a flexing support in a spa, such as a flexing spa headrest. In general, in one implementation, a system includes a surface defining a multi-level recess including a primary recess and secondary mounting recesses, and a pillow including a flexible concave pad and mounts that couple the flexible concave pad with the surface, the secondary mounting recesses receiving the mounts such that the flexible concave pad is suspended above the primary recess, a curved edge of the flexible concave pad contacts the surface, and the flexible concave pad mechanically flexes concavely between the mounts and about the curved edge when force is applied.

A tactile therapy system for use in a spa, hot tub, or pool. The tactile therapy system is based, at least in part, on the hand or foot maps specified in the reflexology art. The system thus includes a pattern of protrusions configured in accordance with reflexology hand map or foot map on which an individual may apply his or her hands or feet. The reflexology-based tactile therapy system may optionally be combined with hydrotherapy, by placing hydrotherapy jets among the pattern of protrusions.

Systems and techniques to increase storage space for added features in a spa using a modular spa design. A spa structure includes a compartment defining a location that receives a device to be used in conjunction with a spa, and a surface coupled with the compartment and matching a shape of a skirt of the spa. The surface can form a section of the skirt of the spa when attached to the spa. The skirt section can be attached to the spa by being raised under a lip of the spa and can be secured with battens and screws. The skirt section can form exterior steps providing access to the spa and can have a sinusoidal shape. The skirt section can include an integrated lifting mechanism that serves as a support when in a nested position.
