A system for trading goods over a computer network based on image processing includes an image processor that analyzes a picture received from a user to build a description of entities in the picture and correlations among the entities, a description interpreter that analyzes the description to determine an underlying message in the picture and detect information regarding the user's interests, emotions and affinities to goods and services, wherein the information is stored with the user's profile, the user's list of items to trade, and the user's past transaction history, and a trade matching component that uses the user's profile and produces a ranked list of other users with items to trade, or intermediary trade steps, when another user initiates a new trading transaction.

The dynamic selection module provides the forecasting computer with a refined grid for each identified grid cell in each iteration. A method and system for analyzing temporal data includes selecting a data source in which data from the source contains temporal attributes, obtaining temporal data of a first size from the selected data source and mapping the temporal data from the selected source in a temporal graph. The method and system selects a temporal attribute, generates a time decay function of the selected temporal attribute and selects a time window in the temporal graph defining a data set of a second size less than the first size based on the time decay function. The data set contains a set of predefined properties, each having a metric calculated from data within the time window. The method and system samples data from the data source based on the selected time window and generates a temporal graph of the metrics of the predefined properties of the sampled network data.

An emergency response system, method of responding to emergencies and a computer program product therefor. Networked provider computers are distributed over a geographical area that includes multiple regions with at least one providing computing capability to each region and each region receiving emergency response resources during emergencies from an emergency response computer. During any local emergency the area emergency response computer provides a local response and notifies other emergency response computers for other regions that are potentially affected by the emergency.
