Passenger seats having improved comfort emergency egress solutions for mini suites or other types of passenger seats that have a privacy screen, wall, or sliding door that divides the passenger seat from the aisle area or other common area. Specific embodiments find particular use on-board passenger transportation vehicles, such as aircraft, where comfort and privacy must be balanced with safety and federal regulations.

Mini suite emergency egress solutions

Described are examples of a seating arrangement for an aircraft with a first seat in a first accommodation space and a second seat in a second accommodation space, wherein the first and second accommodation spaces are configured to share a common floor space at a floor level of the aircraft. One seating arrangement includes a divider screen located between the first and second accommodation spaces, moveable, by sliding in a direction along the common floor space, between a stowed position permitting passenger egress between the first and second accommodation spaces across the common floor space, and a deployed position preventing passenger egress between the first and second accommodation spaces across the common floor space.

Platform first class

A passenger seat () with a sitting area (), a side ottoman (), an open space () that may be enclosed via use of a bed extension (), and a backrest (). The backrest may be divided into an upper portion and a lower portion. The seat may also be provided with one or more storage areas and/or a side console.

Passenger seat with comfort layout

A passenger seat assembly includes a seat support and an immobile seat shell mounted on the seat support. The seat shell can include a bench and a backrest. The bench includes a forward edge, an aft edge, and a top surface extending between the forward edge and the aft edge. The backrest can be connected to the aft edge of the bench and can extend in an upward direction from the top surface of the bench. In some cases, the backrest includes an upright portion connected to the bench and angled at a first angle with respect to the top surface of the bench, and a resting portion connected to the bench and angled at a second angle with respect to the top surface of the bench.

Universal rest seats

A passenger seat having improved backrest comfort features. The passenger seat has a backrest with a movable portion. In one example, the movable portion is defined by an upper backrest portion that can slide up and away from a lower backrest portion to provide a gap between the two portions. The gapmay provide an arm or elbow rest for a seat occupant. The movability of the backrest can also provide enhanced comfort for the seat occupant by allowing adjustability of the head rest portion. In other examples, the movable portion comprises the entire backrest of the seat. When in a raised position, the backrest may also provide enhanced privacy to the seat occupant.

Passenger accommodation systems are described. An example passenger accommodation system can be disposed in an aircraft and can include a passenger seating deck, a plurality of passenger seats disposed within the passenger seating deck, and a partition wall disposed within the passenger seating deck so as to separate the plurality of passenger seats into a first set of passenger seats and a second set of passenger seats. The partition wall can be aligned with a longitudinal axis extending in the direction of travel of the aircraft. Movement of passengers between the first set of seats and the second set of seats may not impeded by the partition wall.

Two seats () are arranged facing in opposing directions, wherein each seat comprises a seat back (), a headrest (), and a seat pan (). Each seat is configured to convert between a seat position and a bed position. A partition () is positioned between the two seats.

Seat unit for a vehicle cabin

Described are seat units having at least one seat () with an upper seat back cushion (), a lower seat back cushion (), and a seat pan cushion (). The at least one seat is configured to transition between a seat position and a bed position. The upper seat back cushion and the lower seat back cushion are separated by a gap () located between an end of each cushion when the at least one seat is in the seat position. In contrast, the ends of the cushions are flush with each other when the at least one seat is in the bed position. The seat pan cushion is positioned below a passenger's buttocks when the at least one seat transitions between the seat position and the bed position without additional adjustment by the passenger.
