There is disclosed a construction toy kit including small and large blocks having a hollow open ended box-like base with primary cylindrical outer couplers and inner cylindrical couplers within the base. The size and configuration of these blocks do not allow them to be coupled directly together and the kit includes intermediate blocks capable of so doing.

A pivot structure comprises a one-piece plastic support including a parallelepiped rectangular body having a sidewall and a pivot bracket projecting from this sidewall. It comprises also a one-piece plastic bar section which includes a base plate, a columnar connector having an essentially constant cross-section and projecting from one face of the base plate; an L-shaped connector with a first leg upstanding at one end from one edge of the base plate, spacedly of the columnar connector, and a second leg projecting outwardly from the other end of the first leg, away from the columnar connector. The support section and the bar section are interconnected by a pivot arrangement on both the bracket of the support section and on the free end of the second leg of the L-shaped connector to allow for relative pivotal movement of the support section and bar section about an axis which is parallel to the sidewall of the support section. The pivot arrangement can be operatively connected to toy assembly block including a hollow plastic body having an endwall, a top wall and a hollow connector plug on the top wall and opening into the hollow body. This is achieved by having the pivot arrangement properly dimensioned so that the columnar connector project from the base plate and fits snugly into the hollow connector plug of the toy assembly block.

There is disclosed a pictorial block puzzle capable of reproducing three different pictures. It consists of a pedestal and of a set of puzzle blocks. The pedestal has a flat upper face and a group of identical plugs projecting from its upper face; the plugs being disposed along orthogonal lines and being equally spaced from one another along those lines. The puzzle blocks are hollow cubes of equal size of which three walls illustrate a portion of one of the three pictures while the other walls are pierced with openings large enough to allow mounting of the cubes around one of the plugs of the pedestal to reproduce one of the pictures when all of the picture portions face up and are properly positioned. A block manipulator is also disclosed which comprises a handle having an air conduit including air openings at the ends of the handle and a section cup fixed to one end of the handle and having a central air opening registering with the air opening of the one end of the conduit, the suction cup being sized to be applied fully over the block flat face.

Pictorial block puzzle

A one-piece plastic axle structure comprises a base plate, an abutment plate normal to one edge of the base plate, a cross-shaped columnar connector perpendicular to the base plate and a cross-shaped shaft perpendicular to the abutment plate; the shaft having bulges at its free end and the end of the abutment plate being rounded. The axle structure is connected to a wheel having a shaft bearing defining a bore and a counterbore; the shaft of the axle structure fitting into the shaft bearing with its bulges received in the bearing counterbore and the shaft proper received in the bore. The axle structure is further connected to a construction toy block having a parallelepiped hollow body and a plurality of hollow plugs opening into the body; the columnar connector fitting into one of the hollow plugs with an adjacent side wall of the body falling between the abutment plate and the columnar connector; the lower end of the abutment plate being rounded and resting on the inner face of the wheel tread.

A construction toy assembly includes brick-like units of which one wall only has connecting plugs. One unit is made of two parts solid with one another and extending at 45.degree. therebetween; another unit is also formed of two parts but the parts can pivot with respect to one another about a common axis and still another unit is in the form of a hollow open-ended tube which is rectangular in cross-section.
