Cluster-based optimization of antenna tilts in a wireless network and other related aspects are presented herein. A screening component can receive information indicating wireless conditions of respective wireless access points of a geographical region, select, based on a performance criterion, an access point of the respective wireless access points, and group the access point and an other access point of the respective wireless access points into a representation of a cluster of access points. Further, an optimization component can derive antenna tilt values for respective access points of the cluster of the access points in response to a simulation of an application of the antenna tilt values to the respective access points. Furthermore, an implementation component can direct the antenna tilt values to respective components of the respective access points.

Cluster-based derivation of antenna tilts in a wireless network

A method, computer-readable storage device and an apparatus for maximizing the capacity of a wireless network across a geographical area are disclosed. For example, the method monitors the wireless network and gathering network information and user endpoint device information for a geographical area comprising a plurality of cells of the wireless network, processes, for each cell, the network information and the user endpoint device information that is gathered and generating a cell specific traffic pattern, determines whether the capacity is below a threshold, and increases the capacity of the geographical area in accordance with the network information and the user endpoint device information that is processed for each cell, and the cell specific traffic pattern that is generated for each cell, when the capacity is below the threshold.

Method and apparatus for maximizing network capacity of cell sites in a wireless network

Both uplink spectral efficiency and downlink spectral efficiency are improved through adjustments made to various parameters that would otherwise be treated as static type parameters. Variations in respective performance of two or more cells can be considered during the adjustment. Further, variations of respective cell performance based on time of day/week are considered and compensated for through various adjustments. Such timely adaptations are applied in order to improve the performance of each cell, during each time of day/week.

Self-adaptive coverage of wireless networks

A passive intermodulation detection system is provided to remotely identify passive intermodulation at a base station site and diagnose the type of intermodulation and location of the non-linearity that is the source of the passive intermodulation. The passive intermodulation detection system can generate a test signal in a first band that is transmitted by an antenna. Another antenna can receive a signal in another band, and the passive intermodulation detection system can analyze the received signal to determine whether an intermodulation product due to a non-linearity is present. Based on the type of intermodulation product, period, order, frequency, and etc, the type and location of the non-linearity can be identified and canceled via a passive intermodulation canceling mechanism.

Facilitation of passive intermodulation cancellation

During scheduled or unscheduled wireless communication outage, restoration of crucial or critical cell site devices and/or base station device are prioritized. The system filters current key performance indicator values and historical key performance indicator values for a reference cell device to produce a filtered key performance indicator metric for the reference cell device, filters statistical data to produce filtered statistical data representing a filtered statistic for the reference cell device, determines a weighting factor for the reference cell device, and displays of a ranking score determined as a function of the weighting factor, the filtered statistic data, and the filtered key performance indicator metric. The ranking score provides an ordering that can be used to restore critical cell site devices and/or base station devices.
